  1. Thanks for thoughts/opinions/facts--help. After my insurance I had to pay $60 out of pocket for eye exam and a new set of 80% amber tinted, polarized glasses with anti scratch & glare coating and are also shatterproof which is awesome because I do a lot of shooting. My only worry is the 80% tint may be too dark on overcast days. I did feel a little better realizing I could pay well north of $60 for a non-rx pair of quality glasses so the $60 doesnt seem too bad. Plus Walmart gives you a $60 day satisfaction guarantee on the rx lens so we shall see.
  2. Well tbh Im due for a new pair of glasses thru insurance and Im going to use that money towards sunglasses this year. I tried the fitover types and they hard to used to...maybe because it was just in store while I had them on.....I didnt like the clip on types much either.
  3. Since I have to buy prescription sunglasses its hard to try any out before making the purchase. They are also usually more expensive then normal sunglasses you folks gifted with good sight get to use. My question is what tint should I go with for a pair of rx glasses I am going to use day to day but really want set up specifically for fishing. I have a pair of 80% grey non-polarized glasses now and they are fine for being outside but horrible when out on the boat. I was leaning towards 80% amber(or brown) polarized lenses. What do you folks think? Remember I dont have many choices other then shades of amber or grey for rx glasses.
  4. So by only using sterotypes I can have an open discussion about you and folks your are close to and you won't get "bent out of shape" ...you sure about that?? If you took off the handcuffs of this being a family forum Im sure you would bend a bit if folks pulled the correct strings. By him including everyone in America..he is including your family(assuming they are from here) I dont think I belittled anyone and at the same time Im not sure any one has educated him on any part of his post, other then helping him define the correct names of different weapons. I was responding to him being surprised folks would get upset by his remarks in follow up posts. I was trying to inform him of how presenting his questions in a more respectable manner may get him much better answers. Lastly I dont watch/listen to any Canadian news so its probably my fault for assuming most Canadians didnt pay much attention to ours.
  5. If I said your family was filled with criminals and weird people would you feel I was speaking poorly of them? He is not asking a question with that +/- sentence....he is making a statement.
  6. Your question may have received more/better responses had you not added part of the question which seems a bit ignorant overall to gun violence in general in the US. See throwing a blanket statement over a whole country usually means you are just trying to stir the pot not get factual information. I say (and never in lowercase) America is full of all kinds of folks from of the the most generous to some of the worst wastes of oxygen on the planet. I would also rarely go to a website dominated with folks form another country and ask questions that makes me look like Im speaking poorly of that country. Questioning the freedoms that helped us create this great country usually doesn't go over very well in most groups of Patriotic folks.
  7. If you do enough research on any motor it seems like you find plenty of folks that say they are junk and plenty like the reviews above. Im also checking out used boat/motors and its mind numbing trying to sort through good and bad reviews. I've even called a couple shops closer to me and got the exact opposite answer from folks who work on them for a living. Its beyond frustrating.
  8. 7 shot was upped to a whopping 10 in NY. Basically you can fill the mag.
  9. I have a feeling that transducer set up will become the industry standard.
  10. "Question - That maybe they are a little more aggressive because of the fact that they're packing?" I believe your logic is completely flawed in this thought process. 2 dummies road raging that shoot each other are just 2 dummies. This in no way makes the average CCW person "a little more aggressive" in fact I would argue the exact opposite. These folks are normal law abiding citizens for the most part and in no way are looking for trouble or a chance to use their weapon. They just simply feel safer for having one to protect themselves or loved ones. As a husband and father, I feel its my duty to provide protection for my family but in no way would I ever want to have to pull my weapon in a bad situation around my daughter. My opinions are based on the hundreds of folks I've met in CCW/NRA classes. My buddy teaches the NRA/CCW class on my personal range so I usually go to help out and meet folks.
  11. I think you missed a step.......Wouldn't it be easier to put the line thru those little circle things on the rod before tying on? Seems like it would be tough to get the lure thru them all.
  12. Yes, both purchased at same time from Dicks Sporting goods.
  13. I have been messing with it for a while and this is what I have figure out. If I loosen the drag enough to where I can put my finger on the spool to stop it all of the noise and odd feelings goes away and it seems very smooth. When I tighten the drag to where the spool moves I get 6 audible(barely) clicks for every revolution of the handle. I have not strung up the reel yet. Just put it on a rod and have been messing with it. I have not opened it to change any of the brake settings. (I did for the other reel) If I had to explain it feel like one of the ball bearings on the spool is missing and when it gets to a certain point the other bearings roll past the open spot and make contact. That would be the audible sound I hear. I doubt that is the real problem but that is the best way I can explain it.
  14. Thanks for the info. I never realized bearings in the handles were counted.
  15. Instructions......I have a whole website full of expert fishermen who are stuck in the middle of winter duldrums with little or nothing to do...Id rather ask you guys then read some instruction booklet.
