  1. Had a few hours like this today at the first 2 ponds I stopped at. Must have seen 8-9 beds and 15 or so fish around them, threw the whole tackle box at me and not a bite. It's been "cold" in Tampa the last few days, so I'm sure that had something to do with it.
  2. I had a great day with the pearl/bronze shad crank. I was skipping it under branches and bushes, twitch once or twice, then a slow retrieve. Just look for a wake on the surface and chuck it as close as you can.
  3. There is no one specific spot that will hold bass in every pond. Depending on the type of pond, man made or natural, there will be different depth features on your pond. Forget about ledges till you have a boat, and look for simpler signs of places fish will most likely be. Weed beds with gaps between them, points or curves in the shoreline, and areas that remain shady are all spots to start at. Hopefully someone else can lend some knowledge to the rocks thing, my FL ponds are all mud/muck/slime/quicksand bottom. Invest in some weedless frogs and a ton of hooks and start casting into spot you'd never think to cast to. That's where I've had the most success(and the most fun).
  4. Went out last night to my pond and had 8-10 short strikes on a spinbait in every corner of the pond. Shallows are in the high 60s so I guess they are holding in shallow. Tried a few different ponds this morning with 2 #3 on watermelon senkos, both in 3 feet or less of water. Had 2 huge strikes on a frog, but neither clamped down on it. You could see them chasing baitfish all up and down the shallows but I didn't have anything but worms with me(lazy). Any suggestions on a bait/lure for running in shallows(2-5 ft) to cash in on the baitfish chase?
