Been fishing for 4 years in So Cal for whatever's in season. Love bassin', pelagics, and fly fishing the trout when they're around. Fished in a couple random countries but nothing beats bassin at home.

  1. Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm aware of the Bass weight = Length^2 x Girth^2 / 1200 formula as I did bust out my google-fu for this before we got started . So even though there is a formula for this already, I'd like to see if there were some new insights that we could pull out, which would take a large set of data. Thanks for this! I'll be inquiring about their data
  2. I want to find a correlation between the length, height, and weight.
  3. I've been looking for data for a fishing app that I'm trying to make but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I've contacted the California DFG and it was a long wait for nothing. So would be awesome if the Bass Resource guys could help me out! Here's what I'm looking for: Bass length, height, girth, weight, and ideally a picture of this fish but it's OK if there isn't one. If anyone knows where I can find this, or even if you have your own catch log that you wouldn't mind sharing with me, I will be forever in your debt. Thanks guys!
  4. All luck my man, was hoping it was a bass lol.
  5. I was fishing with my brother when he metered a spot of fish so I dropped my line. Felt a little something hit the line and set the hook. I pulled up this Somebody must have been using a live bluegill for bait and I hooked the eye of his hook. I removed old hook and he swam away with a big hole in his hump. After the session, I went to buy a Powerball ticket and lost. Does this count as lucky?
  6. When I used to fish the local park lakes, catching 1 bass was my goal. I would be consider 2 bass a great day and 3 would be completely mindblowing. Now I mostly fish a private community lake and consider 10 to be pretty standard. The ones I catch are mostly in the 1lb range but as long as I'm catching then its all good. Even now, as long as I catch 1 fish then I feel good about fishing that day. Getting skunked sucks...
  7. Glad to help and good luck! Post a report if you head over there
  8. I eat beer and finish dehydrated, drunk, and regretting not bringing water or food. Then I pass out on the couch and all is well.
  9. Hey Lunker, don't know if you saw my post but here's a link to it anyway: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/90885-new-to-korea/ Looks like a 1.5 hours subway commute if you're starting from Songtan Station, so there might be some closer options
  10. A 25lber on record means one bigger than the current record exists, so someone should eventually catch it. Probably Karl Von Dibble.
  11. when your woman doesn't ask questions when your fingers smell fishy.
  12. Its skill and experience. When I first started fishing I went with 7 of my friends to Irvine Lake and none of us knew what we were doing. We caught 1 trout amongst all of us in 8 hours and got drunk as hell. Next time I went with someone who's been fishing for his whole life and we all limited out. Lucky bites do happen when the fish will bite anything, but you gotta be someone special to be consistently lucky enough to throw out anything and catch fish every time you go out.
  13. I think it's just me Thanks! I have been finding that this is a very friendly bunch already.
  14. Thanks for the tips ya'll. I'm gonna still call her Big Daddy though
