  1. For under $1000 I'd say bass raider 10E
  2. I too fish from a canoe I have old plastic Coleman RamX 15 that I have modified quite a bit. I Dropped factory bench seat adding a swivel and padded seat with back rest. Anchor trolley on both sides a board I call a dash to have work space other than my lap and floor of canoe. I got yak gear out riggers and now a tm minn kota traxxis 55lb. I use 31 series battery and a cooler for live well. I fish hydroelectric lakes most over 30000 acres of water. You can see my video don't have one with tm yet
  3. My brither-in-law give me my canoe three years ago sith the instructions of make it mine. But if I ever got rid of it I had to offer it back to him first. Dont think that will ever happen. If I destroy it while using it well its just gone. So I was 23 one of best gifts I ever got!!!!
  4. I use a canoe an I take it all. I carry 8 plano 3700 series boxes, 2 soft plastic zippered bags, 7 baitcasters all on 7ft rods, scales, dip net, small cooler, ammo style dry box, hook remover, and pliers.
  5. I have searched for a couple weeks now trying to find out for sure if in a all electric vessel under 16ft. If it requires you to have a fire extinguisher. It clear that if you have any gas or butane propane or fuel of any type a fire extinguisher is required. Laws are extremely vague for vessel that is electric only. I do have navigation lights and some other work lights on my canoe and a couple weeks away from adding a trolling motor just wanna stay on legal side and avoid any hassle of not being properly equipped.

  7. I have been looking at the Minn Kota Traxxis 55# with digital maximizer and the Minn Kota Endura 55# with digital maximizer cant decide if the extra hundred is worth it on the Traxxis the only difference I can see is traxxis has the adjustable handle and quick stow feature. This is going on my canoe. Does anyone know if the power draw is different between the two or is one really more reliable than the other?
  8. To clear things up for some I will be buying a Minn Kota Taxxis 55# thrust Digital Maximizer. My canoe is 15ft 3in total length the beam is 36in wide I have yak-gear oversized outriggers on it. They are about six inches to front of center my motor will be mounted directly behind them. Hope that gives yall a better ideal of what I'm working with.
  9. #1 I'm New to owning a boat of any kind so what is a sconoe at first I thought typo but guess not? #2 I don't want no gas motor period ti much maintenance plus for now I'm car topping its 12 miles to nearest launch if water is right to fish that area of the lake. I do carry everything except the kitchen sink. And if one battery (31 series is all I will buy) won't work I will use to I don't care about weight. My canoe to me is on they way to be the best bass boat on the water. If a big 21ft stratos can troll twenty miles in a day don't see why a canoe with motor can't.
  10. Thanks to all for your input! I'm anxious to get a motor on there. I can currently paddle over 12 miles in a day but that's some hard fishing. Also koofy Smacker in perfect conditions like the lake looks glass no wind an canoe loaded to one end if you work hard enough topping out at over 7 mph is doable. I'm just trying to increase my range for a day of fishing I would love to comfortably fish 8 or 9 miles one way from boat ramp so 18 miles total. I use my canoe just as many do big boats on a 33000 acre lake only having about ten boat ramps that I will use.
  11. Home lake is Wiess in NE Al
  12. I have a 15ft Coleman RamX canoe going to put a 55# trolling motor on it any ideal on what speed I might get from the trolling motor? I can paddle at a steady 5 mph bumping 6 according to phone speedometer app. Anyone else ever check there rig out that way?
  13. I have a Coleman 15' ramx canoe I used a 2x10 fir a dash in mine its so sturdy I can stand on it at 230lbs underneath I have one tackle tray stored using metal straps and I took a lot of ideas from the kayakers using bungee's to lock stuff down for storage there awesome I have a video on YouTube (bassincanoe) its just shows my redneck bass boat.
