My bps did last spring I got a 300e and 200gt and got 40$ off each reel on reel trade in! So sounds like different rules for various places.. I will say I was surprised and very happy!!
Yep it matters to me... Going to south fl day after the spring sale starts! Really would like to give it a tough work out however.... It will have no effect on my trip one way or the other I guess I am a little shocked at the extreme low numbers that BPS may have for sale... Sounds like Black Friday crap!!
Those are some seriously low numbers....
Surely they will have greater numbers than these
With 3 different speeds , left and right retrieve seems low
Anybody else?
I used a big Daiichi red hook in the late 90's on Big yo-Zuri crankbaits. Baits color was lime/ chartreuse . On that color and bait I had more fish caught by that red hook than you can believe!
However the red hooks now suck so I use owner needle points and mustad triple grips. No more reds for me
Well my sources are sworn to secretly withhold all information On this reel ,my only question was (location local BPS) how many will they have on day 1 of sale? I know a great deal about the reel itself... I am wanting to know approx. # 's for availability
Anyone wanna take a crack at this?
I have no clue.. When the D was released they were out in 2 hrs of day one
I know some one knows
I used a graphite framed baitcaster by quantum in about 1988.... Hard use ,big fish and saltwater fishing.... Never a problem... I have been upgrading ever since.... Buy what you can afford.... Yes... But today's cheap reels will not live long..the advice the guys are giving is sound. They don't review the cheap reels... Just buy the reels and use them.. Maybe later on you can upgrade if you want
I stayed within my budget but I wanted better stuff always.. Because I fish a lot.... Always have
So good luck with you're reels and as always enjoy fishing!

Shimano was indeed involved in the reel trade in program at my local BPS also I believe they will be this year as well
Anyone else on Shimano and reel trade-in @BPS
My opinion.... I don't depend on it.. More trouble than benefit . Are you buying it? Expensive ! I just have a little left and when it's gone.. I will not buy it again.. Company's want to give it fisherman... That's the game.. And that is way different. For me I decided long ago that it was time to get back to basics for just fun fishing! My line choices are solid and reliable and that's it.
Good luck !

Yea it's a very good deal, if u will use them..... I used my 7' CBR for open hook tube presentations in like pea gravel , sand, smaller rocks etc.. It was ok ..not bad... Not perfect but it worked.
Good luck!
For me it's mono... I use 2 rod setups for top water.. Mono will absorb trace amounts of water I usually quit topwater 45 minutes after sunrise .. Unless its a special bite going!

You are in a awesome location to catch big females.. 8 to 12 llb. Yep . It's started (spawn) if you have no boat .. Golden shiners.. If you enjoy live/ dead bait fishing... Biguns too.. They are expensive and can be hard too keep alive... But they exhibit so much fear at the presence of largemouth.
In a boat? Flip/ pitch ..
look for beds .. They stand out most times!
Lastly... Have fun!
Tell us how you catch them!
Spence
Ps.. I flip big 8 to 10" worm in beds.. My use of jigs very troublesome in fl. fishing because of heavy hydrilla
