  1. Anyone with production rod recommendations?
  2. Yes sir I will check them out. Thank you!
  3. I sometimes like to use golden wild shiners (mule ears as the locals call them) and was trying to find a rod that I can mount my cu300e on ... Ideal would be rated to 30 pound test , be of a graphite maybe glass composition 7'6" to 8' rated @ 4 to 6 0z and it must have a really good parabolic bend thru out the rod. The rod would be used in hydrilla infested waters.. Also probably used as a river catfish rod with live bluegills or red ears as bait. I used a guy in Florida a few years back his rods were awesome.. Custom made locally and I do remember they were rainshadow blanks.... Light rods but so strong.... I do not know a rod builder anymore and trying to locate a production rod has yielded no results. If you have any ideals on this rod type.... Please share. Know a excellent rod builder? Let me know I would be ok with a production rod if I could find one. Thanks guys for any leads on this!
  4. Citica is my suggestion.... Right now they are poping up on close out for cheap!
  5. IDK..... But it seems really goofy to me , there are lots and lots of awesome jig makers....and maybe Iam wrong but the term flop comes to mind...currently I am out and sorta dismayed by this presentation
  6. DD22hd it's a one ounce bait vs a normal DD22 @ 5/8 oz cast far I got mine at bass pro in Clarksville , In. The lighter version will back up quicker though... Color is well for me a blue gill pattern or crawfish color good luck and hope u like them... They are great baits!
  7. Normally I use owner needle points on crankbaits or gammys... I just don't like cutting points for crankbaits... Tears big holes in fish but on lipless I agree with ww2farmer mustad triple grips are a strong treble and it holds very, very well they are strong and stay sharp! Good luck
  8. That's funny .. Went to buy a dish machine and bought a boat! I love it! Welcome to the forums . Oh and good luck with ur wife...ur I mean boat!
  9. Yep ! for somebody just wanting to learn a BC that's a smart buy , 2 reels @that price good choice ....enjoy those reels you did very well!!
  10. Thanks Florida fishing is my love fresh, salt, St. John's river I love it all Thanks to everyone who has helped me on this slightly odd issue. Will post the cure at a later date. Thanks to Delaware tackle as well. Happy fishing!
  11. Seen and caught a few around her size... Just to look at a picture is tuff... She's skinny for sure big head ....over 7 less than 8 pounds ... That's just educated guess based on 30 years fishing for them big ole girls.... Before spawn she would go 10 +... Nice fish my man... Nice fish!
  12. Thanks for you're help mine is more up and down and front to back it's looking like a send in to shimano for a fix... It's my new flipping reel and it has got to have a effect on the spool and brakes.... Any body else? I was hoping to use in on the big o in 5 weeks.. Humm..
  13. Thanks for sharing your history with this issue maybe I need to give it some time. But not to long I hope! Thanks again
  14. yea spools in right I have chronarch 50e also and they are tight looking like a send off somewhere
  15. So I was thrilled to buy this new several months ago and had not used it.. I mean I put line on and cast in yard testing what I could. Back in box until a couple days ago I mount it on my loomis flip stick tied a 3/4 oz tungston wt. and boom.... Felt the side plate (brake side access key side) move I was shocked... So I play around and it's just slightly loose when I grip.... Seems like a outta spec side plate well this sucks! So who else has had this problem? Remedy ? Man I hope I don't have to send it in! Is there someone who can tell me what they have done to fix this at home, if possible ? Thanks for any suggestions
  16. I use a curado 300e it's a a very, very powerful reel. I use it for 2 oz/ 3 oz mission fish and 65 on braid... I believe u need braid for best results in hook sets.. But I have used 25 yo hybrid with ok results. I use a calcutta te 200 gt up to 1 and a half oz limited line capacity...but it's also a strong and well built reel I think u would be happy with the performance of the curado 300e or a used b model... Good luck and let us know!
  17. Thanks to everyone for their ideals and tweaks I truly have learned more about how to optimize these big spoons to have a better chance at success!!! Happy fishing !
  18. We can still be friends! I do use Hack Attack jigs with that big ole gammy it's that's a awesome hook for sure!
  19. I use owner straight worm wide gap xxx strong in 4/0 and 5/0 these are in my opinion the best hooks for flipping / punching also been using 4/0 Trokar flipping hooks they seem to be a good hook also I just haven't used them enough... The owners.... U can't go wrong!
  20. I have seen that.... Myself.. I giggled I won't use it for a couple reasons but, that said I say if you believe in it or wanna try it ,by all means try it. I thought the same about the Arig and I was wrong on it... Arig is at times incredibly effective. Happy fishing!!!
  21. I bought a couple of large 2oz chrome spoons. A tip I got .. Was to fish this bait more for big fish success . I wonder about replacing the trap for a single hook? These snag terrible. So anybody used a single hook on a spoon? What hook recommendations on both hook styles would u make? Thanks for any ideals!
  22. I have wondered and will ask all who have used this shimano size 50 reel in heavy vegetation aka.. Hydrilla . Is it tough enough? With braid or co- poly ? Thanks to those who know!
  23. Hey people , Just a quick note. I just love fishing! Rods, reels, etc. and it seems like folks here on this forum do to. Just as a side note, I fished central Florida . St. John's river.. Intercostal.. Saltwater I love fishing.. All kinds but my favorite.... Flippin for big Florida largemouth. I have read a lot here and have already learned something's . So thanks already and have a blessed 2014 !
  24. Yes sir just did! Thanks!!
  25. Yzh... I have used this line for 10 years and I love it the line is crazy strong.. Excellent line for the money ...great for flip and pitch styles but drop down to 8 pound for cranks it's really good on bait casters...also for me not so good on spinning reels but that's me
