  1. What do you prefer and why (if possible) I have several small bottles of Shimano oil including a bottle with a darker green cap vs the normal blue. The darker green bottle came with my Curado BFS reel for use with the micro bearings. Seems fine to me, but I also use Lucas oil for fishing reels just not on bearings.
  2. Very true in my experience. I’ve purchased 3 used reels described as used, mint and they looked better than mint. All from Japanese vendors. Wish American businesses took such pride.
  3. Sure. I’ll buy a mint condition, used reel. Never ever been disappointed. As far as rods, 2. Both were fine and came from ALFC ..
  4. Yup.. go with 6 gauge. Sorry but that’s probably why you’re having that voltage dip when you run your trolling motor, Tom is totally right. I pulled 6 on my Skeeter years ago and never had any issues for the 10 years I ran it.. Good luck.
  5. 99% I’m using Yozuri Hybrid. Along with PLine CX and CXX. I've spooled up two new Daiwa HD 1000 with 16 sunline shooter and 22 pound Daiwa Samurai which I do really like on my GLX F&P rod.
  6. Trust me, the fish won’t care..
  7. Yea Wheeler is doing well today..
  8. In other news: Smallmouths are being caught well on Kentucky Lake, including 1, 5 pound + (Open series) I’m streaming MLF, it’s rather boring. No power fishing going on. (Lake Murray)
  9. When I throw a “smaller” jig, I usually throw a 1/4-3/8. I just trim my skirt way back, and shorten a crawfish trailer of some type or a chunk of some type and BAM! Works just fine when needed.. Remember the bait monkey never surrenders..
  10. I’m certain that folks that haven’t fished in heavy hydrilla, sticking a 5 or 6 pound LMB and dragging out 12 pounds of fish AND hydrilla can’t relate. But I certainly can.. it’s fun battle for sure. It has an advantage, a whole bunch of people don’t want to fish deep inside a 1/2 mile stretch of heavy hydrilla. Less fishing pressure😉
  11. Ah, great ideal !
  12. 10-4 I guess I need the spanner. I’m not converting the handle just yet, but these knobs are gonna be. Even if I wasn’t contemplating a change I’d want access to the bearings etc, I’ve got one and it feels like it needs a shim per knob.
  13. What’s up with the tool to remove the knob covers off a Zillion HD1000? 2 new reels and no tool here.. I don’t want to mar them trying improvised means…🤷
  14. Oh WOW! Now we got us a KNOB FIGHT!! 🤣🤣🤣😉
  15. Overcast w wind or current as some of us would say. Spinnerbaits, rattlebaits, squarebills or vibrating jigs.. in a 20 mph day with peaks of sun and warming water, a spinnerbait, no sun w rain, crank bait. or rattlebaits. That’s my style..
