  1. You never know when a bass will pull up to feed. But I would not advise winter fishing if you didn't do well when it was warm. The bites are often few and far between, it is very rewarding however to pull a bass from ice cold water.
  2. The football team decided they wanted players who are built like a post spawn buck bass
  3. All of the members aged 40 and older on the forums have decided to make a youtube channel together because they like fishing youtubers so much
  4. Field and stream tec lite is only $50 and I PROMISE you it won't disappoint! I have a 6'6" 1 piece light action that I use for trout and panfish.
  5. I've always said that if I lived on a lake and had a dock, I would have contraptions that would collect lures underneath my dock with ropes to pull them up when I wanted to check them
  6. I plan to try to film most of my outings. I know I can make good videos, and I'm working on getting cameras and editing software to make it all happen. Should be interesting!
  7. Pit boss in water above 65 degrees, D-Bomb in water below 65.
  8. Most underspins are designed for water that is deeper than that, I would go with the lightest underspin you can find, and maybe throw it on heavier line like a 12 or 15lb test mono to keep it a little higher in the water column. They are meant to be fished S-L-O-W in the cold! I would use a medium action casting rod since it's an open hook. I often throw mine on a cranking rod. 6:4:1.
  9. There is no alternative!!
  10. One time I did throw an a-rig with only two 1/16 swimbait heads on the bottom to keep it balanced with everything else weightless because I was fishing a river that is typically less than 6' deep, and it worked, but in your situation I would go with what @Raul said and use 1/8 or 1/16oz heads. Keitech swimbaits would definitely be a good choice for the rig, they work for me! The Picasso school e rig junior has worked for me in very clear water, the wire is a good color for it.
  11. this is what I needed to hear
  12. So I know the general rule of thumb is that once the water drops below 60 degrees the rig starts to come into play (yes I know it can work in warm water I'm just speaking in general terms). What I'm curious about is how cold of water you guys have caught them in with the rig?
  13. I bought my first baitcaster and started targeting bass in the fall of 2013.
  14. Alabama rig bite was good today
  15. Caught my PB walleye this evening, crushed the Alabama rig I was throwing. 4.8" keitech swing impact fats with a 5.8" swing impact fat in the middle. Thought I had a giant largemouth but you can only be so disappointed with a fish like this! 27", 5.68lbs, and a $20 reward tag in her back.
  16. Couple very pretty wild trout today! My brother caught the brown which was was 17", I caught the rainbow, 20". All released.
  17. I'll be trout fishing as I am every year on black friday
  18. I fish lakes with what I consider too much bait. If I see a cloud of bait, I know there's no reason to fish it. Bait with predatory fish underneath them (striper or largemouth)? Sometimes I can catch those but often they are just staying near their food source so that when they get hungry they can get after it. I don't get excited unless I see a cloud of bait that is being broken up by fish with lines going every which way and small clouds of bait mixed in with them! Then it's game on.
  19. I think I'm catching more fish on the outside arms than the inside right now. Doesn't make sense. Stripers usually hit the inside, this is the first time I've gotten into bass on the rig.
  20. Find a body of water where you have both and start there...... There's a forum member from your state who is pretty good at catching big trout eating bass. Scratch that, he is very good at! @SPEEDBEAD.
  21. Lipped them/halfway grabbed the rig. I don't know how it all worked out. I have landed 3 doubles in 3 days of fishing, I though they were supposed to be uncommon on an a-rig!
  22. I fish one lake where they will hit any bait you use for bass. Swimbait, drop shot, blade bait, lipless, deep diving crank, etc etc.
  23. 3000 picks up more line so id you're fishing a wacky rig you can catch up to those fish that come out from under the dock at 10,000mph and end up under your boat before you even know you're bit.
  24. Outkast Tackle Money Jig 1/8oz
