  1. People on here will tell you that bass do not care if braid is directly attached to the bait even in clear water. I would love to take them on some of the bodies of water that I fish so they can show me that.
  2. I catch tons of fish in warm or hot water on jerkbaits. As long as the water is clear they are an excellent bait. My favorite clear water baits would be a drop shot, wacky senko, shakey head, spook, jerkbait, and small swimbait. Light line is key!
  3. Hoping there will be another showing of them this spring!
  4. I've never even fished in a body of water that has pike but I use 90# fluoro for musky. @A-Jay Likes that knot 2 kinky wire or something like that
  5. Thanks guys! Here I was thinking it was a bargain bin bait or something, turns out it's a pretty pricey bait! Hope I don't like it
  6. Found this in the river here in Morgantown the other day, not sure what it is, I don't think I've seen them before. It looks like a lower end bait but I put some new hooks on it and I'll definitely see how it works! Anybody know what it is? Those are #6 round bend gamakatsu trebles for size reference.
  7. I have definitely thought about it. However, it is a very unique ecosystem in that 1/2 mile stretch of river and I don't want to throw anything out of whack. Despite how destructive they are, I am sure the otters are keeping certain species in check. I always long arm fish because it makes them look good, the picture is of the fish not me. The problems begin when people lie about weights and lengths on long armed fish, which I don't.
  8. I think she was sick and had been attacked by otters. There is a pretty big population of them on that small stretch of river and they often will just kill fish for no reason, or kill them and eat only the tail or a small bite of them. When there is ice on the banks there will be dozens of big shad, bluegills, crappie, and some bass laying on top of it from the otters.
  9. Forgot about this one! She was 23" long, caught her in December two years ago. Blind in one eye and all sorts of beat up.
  10. Here's another hyperpigmented melanosis bass. Very cool looking fish, I think she was just shy of 5lbs, post spawn.
  11. A white jig with a white floating craw if I'm having to pester the fish until it bites, but the first thing I would throw is a drop shot. On big fish or in tournaments I'll use some of my precious clone gills on a drop shot.
  12. The hookup to landing ratio with a kastmaster spoon is horrible on trout. I very rarely use spoons for trout because of this. Try a small gulp minnow on a jighead!
  13. I would be at Sebastian inlet if I was in Vero Beach!
  14. It has never made sense to me why some states don't allow the snagging of invasive species, it is almost impossibly rare to snag gamefish while trying to snag carp.
  15. As long as you rig them straight, they should run true at all speeds. Make sure you leave them in their clamshell packaging without pinching them or anything, the slightest pinch or bend in the tail can throw the swim off.
  16. Those three baits are hyped for a reason my friend
  17. Texas rig with a 1/0 ewg and as a trailer on a finesse jig are the only ways I have fished one
  18. Not bass fishing, but this is how I caught my 2nd biggest brown @21". Had to make a stealthy approach that involved a good bit of rock climbing to get into position to cast.
  19. Imagine stroking a jig but with a 1/0 treble with a stout 1/8oz swimbait head below it. 75% of the fish pull off within the first 30 seconds but a few stay hooked. I also crank a 1/2oz lipless through the area sometimes. Either way it's all pretty dumb haha
  20. I haven't seen one in person, but I don't have high hopes for this bait.
  21. Definitely, MH with 12lb line and you can't move them when they are in the main current of the river
  22. If someone says something about staring at a bobber all day, I don't even try to explain what I do. They are too far gone
  23. Currently, the only way for me to come into contact with my finned friends is snagging carp (Legal in WV) near a discharge outlet on a flooded river that we can walk to from our dorms. Is it spring yet?
