  1. The curado I is $119.00 to $135.00 on Fleabay right now
  2. I really do not like that line . Vicious is far to stiff and wire like to me too. It is like fishing bailing wire.
  3. I just ordered a Megabass Spinnerbait Special I'm going to try out for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and swim jigs but I have no XP with it yet. I've been using a Duckett White Ice 7'1" Medium Heavy and It is truly great for those baits, the action of that rod is perfect.
  4. 7'0" Megabass Orochi XX Tour Versatile, Shimano Metanium. 17# Sea-Guar Fluorocarbon line. I can't remember if it is InvisX or Red Label, TBH I can't really tell them apart.
  5. I always spend more on the rod. I'm not saying the reel isn't important but the rod is where all of the feel, action of working the bait and landing the fish comes from. I would get a great rod and line and then an ok to good reel myself.
  6. It is just like all rods, I have some Duckett that have a softer bend before getting to the power of the rod and I have some that are as stiff as a broom stick with just a little tip action. it all depends on which model you happen to pick up.
  7. Thanks guys, it helped. I was not thinking about the Spec R because I was thinking it was pretty much the same rod as the EMTF but shorter. I'm not really sure why I was not considering it because the EMTF is fantastic. I think I'm going to order the Spinnerbait Special for now and then may be go for the Spec R in a few months. Thanks.
  8. I bought the 7'5 EMTF and was so happy with it that after one fishing trip I ordered the Tour Versatile for Jig's and such. I use the EMTF for Senko's, Texas rigs and light football jigs and I use the Tour for flipping, pitch jig's, larger T-rigs, c-rigs so those two rods cover the majory of the baits I fish. I only bring my topwater rod and my Frog ands toad rod and grab a couple of my White ice to thorw my other baits on. What I would like to do is buy one more Megabass to cover those other baits and then try fishing with a set of megabass rods for a while. I need a megabass rod I can throw spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, swimjigs, SQ Billed cranks, rattletraps and hudd's on. I was looking at either the Flatside Special or the Spinnrbait special, but I am simply unsure of which rod would do this the best. Which would you guys choose? The 6'10 mod-fast MH or the 7'0" Regular taper MH flat side special.? Thanks for any and all help guys.
  9. The one rod I enjoy the most for Spinnerbaits in the 1/2 and up is my 6'10 Medium Heavy White Ice rod. It is really a great rod for those types of baits. for smaller spinnerbaits 3/8 and down I use the 6'10 Ghost rod for those. Check out the Duckett line of rods, they are great.
  10. I believe 100% that the rod means more. I do how ever have some very good and expensive reels but if I had to choose more money would go toward the rods over the reels.
  11. If you are already really enjoying the Curado I then you will also love the CI4. Those are both top of the line reels and you can not go wrong with either. I think the Shimano will be a better reel but it is also $75 more on retail but as has already been said do not pay retail for either one, they can be had for much less.
  12. Those two Ghost rods that were replaced were mine. I had bought two the day they were released and they were Gen-1. Those rods had a bad batch of clear coat applied and it turned the rods a yellow color. I emailed Sean and ask if they could do anything about it and was told that Duckett was upset that the rods had changed color and wanted them off of the market. They replaced them ASAP with brand new rods and no Questions ask, they even paid shipping. I had used the rods for over a year and the warranty was out but they didn't care at all, they wanted them exchanged. I still have the emails from Sean, He said what happens when you go to a tournament and people see yellow Duckett rods? It hurts Duckett, we want them back and we want you to have nice, new white rods to fish with. Now if that isn't good CS I don't know what is. Out of 20 Duckett rods I've broken one, It was on the second outing with the rod but it was the first time fishing with that rod. I Believe the rod was damaged in shipping and when I set the hook it broke in two places. Duckett had me a brand new rod at my door in 3 days and I had no problems at all with CS. I am VERY happy with Duckett rods.
  13. Those Lew's rod are really good.
  14. I have not fished the Helium rods but do have the KLX and Z-Bone. The Medium Heavy would be my choice, It is rated 1/4 to 1 Oz. Sounds perfect.
  15. I wouldn't let this thread stop me from trying a certain brand. I can show you threads that are saying the same thing on every rod made but also something doesn't feel right about this thread. We have a guy with 27 post and no info on what happened and why, we only have, I hate them. So I would take this with a grain of salt until we have more info.
  16. Could you give us a little more info? Which rod was it? A Ghost? Micro Magic? Macro Magic? White Ice? What happened to it, why did it break? What did the company say was the reason they would not warranty the rod? Thanks and maybe this will help us understand exactly what is going on with this situation. If it is legit I will speak with Sean about it.
  17. They will all work but I've had better luck using Fluorocarbon line with Senko's.
  18. I do not have a problem with this, it is his Opinion and he has a right to say what he thinks. I love Duckett rods they have been great. They also have a fantastic warranty that they stand behind. I've had his same XP with other rod companies, any of them can and do break. Duckett will and does honor the warranty unless you did something wrong yourself. You really can't break a rod in a door or a rod box and expect a company to replace it. Last I checked most companies make products to sell to make money. I do not think I have ever seen one that didn't want to make money. Duckett, Megabass and ALX Rod's are three of the best bass rods made, BAR NONE. EDIT....not locked but you can bet money if it was me saying this same thing about dobyns rod's, it would be locked quick, fast and in a hurry after I was jumped on by about six different dobyns guys.
  19. The rod you're looking for is a Megabass
  20. It is very hard to beat the Duckett Micro Magic Pro at the $150 price line.
  21. 1-Alphas SV. It is one great reel.
  22. I would highly recommend a 7'3 Medium Heavy Duckett Micro Magic Pro. It is a very good rod that will cover many types of baits. Well balanced and sensitive. I'm sure others could recommend other good rod's too.
  23. The best two Senko rods I own are the Megabass Orochi xx EMTF and the Duckett White Ice 7'1 Medium Heavy. I have tried out so many rods for Senko's that I've lost count because the Senko is my favorite bait. Those are the best two I've found. One is in the $300 range and the other is in the $200 Range.
  24. For $99.00 I enjoy using a 6'10 Medium/fast Duckett Ghost for jerkbaits/topwaters it works very well. I would also recommend the Powell Inferno 6'10 Medium/fast rod it is also very good for this.
