  1. My home lake has some huge gizzard shad in it as well as a few ledges I haven't figured out yet so I'm definitely going to look into fishing some of these. Thanks for the info!!!
  2. That's another amazing combo man, I love it!
  3. What's your favorite big worm and how do you rig it? What hook and weight do you use? Looking for ideas for pulling up some hawgs this summer dragging 10 inch worms on C rig or T rigs.
  4. With the heat of summer here it's about that time to drag some big 10" worms around and try to pull up a hawg. What's your rod/reel/line combo for throwing big worms on T rig or C rig like the zoom ole monster and others? I'm working on my current combo, particularly on what line I like. Right now I'm using a Shimano Curado I 7:2:1 on a Johnny Morris elite 7'6 MH. I've been trying several different types of line trying to figure out what I like best. Everything from 14-17lb FC to 20-30lb braid straight or with a leader. What are you guys throwing them on?
  5. Haven't heard about that. What happened?
  6. I don't really use them however my favorite rod has one as well as a longer than normal handle. The rod is a Daiwa TD pro 7M rod that was a basspro exclusive. It wasn't supposed to be anything special but for some reason it just has the perfect balance and perfect action. Whether the foregrip has anything to do with that I really don't know(maybe a balancing thing?) but if I ever run across any more I'm buying them all. I wouldn't mind seeing a few more rods with them.
  7. Those look awesome! I will def be trying one of those out this year. Wonder when we'll be able to get them though, if I remember correctly it was quite a while from ICAST reveal to actually being able to get the original spro rat, think TW was taking pre orders several months in advance.
  8. Ive been using the shroomz jig heads and the bending and dulling is due to snags. I have a very light hook set and I use my drop shot combo, you can see it in action my Ned rig video on YouTube just search "Ned rig 101" and you'll see my vid. Fishing any rig with an open hook is gonna lead to a tree bass once in awhile and that's when problems can occur. I think we've all been guilty of getting frustrated with a snag and just started yanking on the line and that's just something you can't do with this rig. Your not gonna tow in any trees with 6lb flouro!
  9. If anyone is picking up Ned rig supplies I would def recommend getting plenty of jig heads. The small hooks bend easy and the hook points can dull. The TRDs actually outlast the jig heads. The plastic is incredibly strong.
  10. Looking for help picking out a rod to throw large topwater walking lures on. I'm throwing baits in the 1oz 5-6" size range, baits like the Gan Craft S Caper. I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance!!
  11. I agree with most on here that while a similar rig can work the original zman TRD will work best. The plastic's buoyancy on the shroom head is what gives it a lively action on the bottom. As a side tip though I would urge everyone using the Ned rig to check the hook points on their shroom jig heads closely as I found out yesterday even a minor snag can cause the little point to dull or break very easily. I caught several fish yesterday and then suddenly had 4 fish get off. How I didn't notice it after the first fish or two is a mystery but I took a real close look after that fourth one and noticed my hook point had broken. I snagged a small stick earlier and I guess in my excitement of trying a new rig that actually works I didn't check my hook close enough afterwards. Bottom line is the Ned rig works and catches great numbers. I haven't tried too many of the other adaptations of it as far as trying slightly different baits or jig sizes however I have an idea for one using a Zinkerz worm(that's not cutting it in half) that I may try next time out, if it works I'll let you guys know.
  12. Yea the hooks are really cool, you could bring it over pads or light cover without snagging. I'm gonna try to get some time on the water with it later this week.
  13. Just picked up one of these new Megabass Noisy Cat topwater lures and it has a pretty interesting design. I was curious if anyone else has one or has fished one of things? It has a jitterbug type design along with a small Colorado blade underneath. The most curious feature is the lure I have glows in the dark, pretty well I might add, and has what appears to be a port along the back of the lure for what looks like some type of insert. I'm not sure if what goes in there is some additional glow stick type thing or possibly a scent thing because the writing is in Japanese I can't make it out on the box. Anyone have any additional info?

  16. Great deal. If I could ever stop buying JDM lures I could save some cash and get one. Right now Duo Realis holds all my money!

  18. Believe it not I caught several bass over the weekend on topwater and the water temp was only 61. Generally I would say it should be warmer than that but I think you need to think about the spot your fishing as well. For me I was in a cove where the water was only 2.5ft deep so it made it hard for the fish to ignore. If its over 60 and the spot looks right I say make a few casts and see what happens.
  19. @thehooligan I really like the hook keeper on that rod. The whole combo looks amazing!!
  20. mine showed up today as well. Tried to get a size comparison pic with the 10XD and the S crank.

  22. There was a seller on fleabay with some in stock but they sold out very quickly. I was able to get the last one they had, I hope I don't snag this thing up! Maico1 what colors did you get? I got GG megabass kinkuro. I'll post a pic when I get mine and try to post some dimensions and size comparisons as well. Spro has a new big crank coming out soon as well, these giant cranks are starting to really catch on.
