  1. Trilene 100% fluorocarbon. Tried and never switched. Great line.

  3. Hey guys, used to live in texas and was a pretty avid square bill user, but since relocating to florida and fishing more shallow and dense vegetation lakes im having a hard time finding a good place to fish my square bill. What are your thoughts on fishing a square bill around a lot of cover, just not something im used to doing, used to use around docks, wood, and rock. Not much of that around the lakes I fish most here. Any help would be appreciated, my confidence bait took a hit. Thanks.
  4. i would recommend a 7'3" *** heavy rod. well in your price range and is quite sensitive.
  5. i know there are a lot of threads about this line but i have a specific question about the diameter. I know its fairly thick per lb test, but i usually use 20lb fluoro down here in florida and I am interested in trying this line as i am running low on Trilene 100%, my question is if you guys find the 15lb unmanageble with line conditioner. I know a lot of people like the 12lb and is quite manageable it sounds like but im worried about being outmatched here in florida with some of these fish
  6. I wasn't asking because I couldn't get fish out just asking if the Rod had the capabilities. I appreciate the response
  7. In florida. I have a 766 flip that I bought more for flipping to wood and haven't tried it in the florida grass. How do u guys that have used it for this think it held up to heavy punching? I have a more suitable Rod specific for punching but trying to simplify my Rod selection for tournaments. Is it outmatched in the grass? Remember... Florida grass
  8. Man I really wanted to try these rods. I know it isn't new news but why did they discontinue them? Anyone know of anyone having them online, maybe at a close out?
  9. Hey guys. Just moved down to florida and learned gambler is all the rage down here. I know the big ez is pretty versatile and folks are using heavy braid on a Swimbait hook and burning it across the surface but how does it work with a heavier Swimbait hook on 20lb Fluoro around stumps and in river channels with little cover? In texas Swimbait fishing usually means the latter. any input appreciated!
  10. Moving to gainesville next week to take a job at UF and sold my boat here in texas. Anybody have any leads of anything good out that way? will drive if needed....older is what im looking for as 3.5-4k is the budget. Bass tracker or used glass boat. Thanks guys.
  11. at the price point i would stick with the tourney mg. I tried the tournament laser (i know not the same reel) and really didnt like it. The only lews i dont like are the lasers (original and tournament laser) and a lot of my setups are lews. Just my opinion.
  12. I will preface my statement with that i dont have first hand experience. but a rod snob friend of mine is switching out some of his g loomis rods for spiral wraps, he says he feels a huge difference. he said casting distance is the biggest perk.
  13. Long story short is that i am moving from texas to florida in about a month. I sold my aluminum boat and have the opportunity to purchase a pretty clean older glass boat for 3500. Problem is that if i purchase that boat here in texas i have to haul it to florida with me. If i dont do it, i think i am passing up a good deal and im not sure what the used boat market is like in florida. I prefer to stay off craigslist and buy from someone on a forum that has taken care of it, so familiarity is important to me. If this were you, what would you do?
  14. Posting this on here to share my experience. I got online during their early april 25% sale. I ran across the last irod Bubs punch rod (or so i thought) for 112.00 so i bought it immediately. I received a phone call about 3 hours later saying that they werent sure why they had them on the website since they hadnt had it in stock for weeks. They said they would have a new shipment in a couple of weeks. I called back 2 weeks later to check the status of my order and they said it was again delayed and they would get it in on may 5 and ship it out asap. I was a little peeved at this point, but i stayed patient and called this morning to be assured that it was received and they would be shipping it soon. They said well it will be next week and it will ship out as soon as they get it. Wrong again. They calld back several hours later and said that they would not be receiving any punch rods in that shipment for another 4 weeks. Im flat out mad now. I kept my cool and they tried to make it right and ended up giving me the Dobyns Champion 805 Flip/Punch rod for an additional 40 on my end. Good deal i think for me. They made it right, just thought i would share. Your thoughts?
  15. i like 15# fluoro for spinnerbaits, dont throw chatters much.
