Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll go ahead and pick it up as I'm probably not ready for a bait caster just yet and worst case is it will be decorative piece. At $40 its not a huge deal and if I ever participate in one of those military fishing day out on the water events I can show some service pride. I am interested in the military themed custom rod. Do you have a link? Goose52, thanks for your service and paving the way. I'll do some more research on another option. I just seen this combo for a spinning reel, thoughts? Hello everyone, I'm a relatively new person to the sport of fishing. I did some fishing growing up with family members but then grew away from it. The one feeling I remember is going out on the boat or shore fishing and relaxing or enjoying my time away with a select few. I'd like to get back to that & also use it as a tool to extend family time with my loved ones. With that being said, I'm stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (in the Air Force) and if anyone in the area wants to show me some spots or techniques please chime in. Looking forward to getting back into the sport and meeting new people. Also posted a question about Ardent Evercast reels if anyone would like to provide their thoughts. Thanks & God Bless!

Hello everyone, new here & about to post in the intros but wanted to ask a quick question. What is the overall feeling about these reels? I understand they are not made in the US & Evercast is their cheaper option (learned from searching); however I'm new to fishing (well have not done it since my teenage yrs & now 36) but looking to start with a cheap but good spinning & baitcaster. I'm in the Air Force so thought it would be cool if I could show some pride with the Air Force reel. In fact I found a brand new one for $40. Worth it or pass? Suggestions? Thanks in advance.
