  1. I have the gen 1 veritas medium-fast and have used it for those type baits and have tossed a 3/4 oz trap on it and handled it fine. It's personal preference but I would say you made the Right choice
  2. Swimjigs- 7ft mh Lews American hero rod with Lews tournament mg 6:4.1.50lb powerpro. Also used for frogs Chatterbait- Denali rosewood 7'4" heavy multi purpose. Tatula 6:3.1 50lb power pro. Last summer was the first time throwing them and had really good success on those combos with braid.
  3. If you have a sams club near by they have some revo sunglasses on sale for 25 bucks ish. Decided to try some And they really aren't that bad.
  4. Is the sale in-store only? Checked online and the PQ still seems to be listed at 99 bucks
  5. ~ not on their staff ~ I have several jadewoods and a couple rosewoods I got used but in good condition that i have yet to use. No issues at all with jadewoods, and to me they are good rods. My rod experiences of brands is limited. Started with Pretty cheap rods at wallyworld, to picking up a couple mojo rods and a veritas. I like them too but i noticed i gravitated to using more Denali rods. Maybe sometime i will be able to expand my rod selection and try some other "better" stuff but for now, they work well
  6. Might give it a shot, or find something else to buy lol
  7. Oh dang, that would have been a better deal with that coupon
  8. 39.54 for a pflueger supreme mgx spinning reel. Picked up a few
  9. I have the boca pliers. They are great and way better then using my other pliers. I did pull the rubber grips off and plasti dipped the handles. I havent seen the other kind
  10. Fish green, it's all that I've had local. But i would also like to try yellow line.
  11. Great reels
  12. That is pretty heavily coated with grease. I purchased a couple reels used that were the same exact way. After a a little tlc, well a lot of tlc they were great. Complete cleaning, bearing soak w/ ultrasonic and re lubes.
  13. I still may try the red label but picked up a few spools from 12lb to 20lb of invizx while they have the sale going on
  14. I used invizx last year in 15 lb and 17lb. And no complaints with it at all.To me it had great knot strength, and abrasion resistance. Was my first time trying an expensive fluoro And hope i didnt spoil myself. I want to try the red label because it is a little cheaper.
  15. I didn't have any issues taking the side plate off from the one i had. Got it at dsg.
  16. I still have a 7ft mh lightening shock i throw frogs on. Does well and is cheap. Haven't seen or handled the new ones though
  17. For 40 bucks it would be hard to beat i think
  18. It could have been the graphite frame. I honestly can't remember what it was. I guess it had some small flaw with me, so i sold it to a friend. i used it for froggin and it worked when i needed it to. I'm not too familiar with the laser mg but they must be similar reels ? Both at the $80 price point
  19. I had one but sold it. It was a decent reel. I'm not sure exactly what it was about it now, but i preferred the regular speed spool over the carbon fire. If you have a decent deal on one i wouldn't hesitate scooping one up.
  20. You guys are lucky.. The dsg close to me has nothing good like the steals some of you are talking about.
  21. Ive got a few of the jadewoods but the previous model. I like them so far.I Don't really have any complaints against them and i like them more than the mojo bass rods i have.
  22. there is a review on these rods in another post. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/129463-duckett-ghost-rod-pics-inside/
