  1. Hey BR, Just started school in Cleveland and I want to try and figure out how to catch at Lake Erie. I'm bound to shore and it is a huge lake and I am completely lost. Any tips? Thanks, Welds
  2. Get a shimano zodias it is probably the nicest spinning rod i've seen.
  3. I like that it sinks slow. They designed that way, its supposed to be a bug that fell in and is scattering along and just below the surface. You don't see many bugs hopping along the bottom searching for food.
  4. Very different but has a few similarities
  5. Another great outing, this time with some bigger fish showing up on poppers. Biggest two of 28" long each went 10lbs flat, and 8.5 lbs. Stay tuned for more saltwater videos!
  6. Any lure really. Doesn't have to be big at all. I catch some big fish 5+ lbs on a 4" wacky rigged zoom centipede. Small bait that usually catches me small fish but still some big ones. Spinnerbaits, senkos, big worms, frogs.
  7. Spring break topwater bass fishing! Enjoy!
  8. Nice outing! I'll have to make a trip out east sometimes. All the ponds have different spawning times it seems. This one pond I was at this past weekend, the bass were forming their beds and fish were swimming around skittishly everywhere. None were interested in any lures. Will try that spot again in a few weeks for post spawn.
  9. Bass are starting to soawn but not laying eggs. No bites at all. Impossible to catch when they are running all over and searching for mates. Saw tons of bass but they were so skiddish. Lots of bass making beds.
  10. Shimano zodias
  11. There are hardly any spots on the island.. Upstate has loads of lakes all over the place, it's just a far drive.
  12. Miller's Pond and then another spot of a name I will not disclose How about you?
  13. Looking to get out next weekend on my new canoe with the 60 degree days. I'll report back here.
  14. I find it difficult to fish any lure that requires sinking and twitching, it feels very cumbersome on baitcasting. I seem to be only comfortable with spinnerbaits, swimjigs and other lures with a straight retrieve on BC. Hollowbody frogs feel alright, but spinning gear still allows me to get better action out of a hollowbody frog. Its just what I am used to. There is no way I can fish a senko effectively on BC, thats going to take lots of getting used to.
  15. the jigs are two keitech model 1 jigs and one strikeking bitsy flip. Little TW order.
  16. This made me laugh more than I thought it would?
  17. It is a group 24 I did put some car mats in it! They collect most of the dirt.
  18. 14' Sportspal Canoe with 45 lb thrust Minn Kota riptide trolling motor! Tested it out on a local lake today, windy conditions made fishing difficult but it was a great time motoring around. Looking to get out a lot this spring & summer and explore new spots! Also going to be bringing it in the harbor for some striped bass and bluefish action!
  19. Pics of it on the water coming tomorrow...
  20. I love seeing your reports! Good luck and be safe overseas!
