  1. Five and a half pounder on a Koppers frog fished parallel to the bank weed line. The picture was an entry in the Daiwa Tatula photo contest.
  2. Out of those two, Vengeance. But, I had one (before I got more expensive gear) which eventually crapped on me. The tip guide's insert cracked and frayed my line all the time to the point where I couldn't use it anymore. I busted the tip off and put a new Fuji one on it and sold the rod to a friend. Like I said, I have more expensive gear now, but I do own a Daiwa Aird ($50-55). I love it, and it gets as much use as all of my other rods. No lie, if you didn't know the price you'd think it's more expensive than it is. Best $50 rod out there IMO. Also, there are no inserts in its guides to worry about.
  3. Thanks! I hadn't thought if that, I designed them primarily for drop-shotting, but that would wok. They're ~3.5 in.
  4. I design my own baits with clay, and make my own plaster molds of my masters. I started with one mold of the original mater, and with the pours from that made a 5-cavity plaster mold, with another to come soon. Including shipping, my original order was $70 from Bear's Baits. ~$30 for plastisol, $3.50 ea. for colorants, $3.50 for scent, $3.50 ea. for flake. I got four colors to begin with: brown, chartreuse, green pumpkin, and junebug (indigo). Two colors of flake: red and black, and one bottle of scent. I am very pleased with the quality of everything, especially the plastic. I have made some very nice pours.
  5. Back in Febrary- 1.35 pounds on a 1/8 oz Buckeye spot remover shakey head and a watermelon chart. tail Zoom finesse worm. My setup was a Daiwa T3 Ballistic 6.3:1 on a Shimano Crucial 7'2" M Worm & Jig rod spooled with 10 pound Sufix Seige mono. Thrown around submerged stumps. (My profile pic)
  6. This is my custom design drop shot craw. I just finally got plastisol and these re a few of my colors. Would y'all use them?
  7. One word, USED! Get an older Quantum Catalyst, they come up from time to time for $25-30 TYD, they're nice little Rees. Check the fishing flea market here and on other forums (which I won't name, don't want to bash this one). You can get some great deals on used reels, no matter what you're looking for.
  8. Got him! And are you talking about that golf course thread? Lol
  9. Haven't used the Veracity, but have used the Veritas. It's nice, just lots of issues with quality control, especially on the guides. I'd stay away from Abu rods. I have a Shimano Compre and that exact Crucial. Fantastic rods, the Crucial is the best rod I own, a true piece of art! Beautiful rod, super high quality, extremely sensitive, and light! Go with the Crucial!
  10. St. Croix Mojo Bass is very nice, made with high quality components. I've had lots of issues with the Veritas series. I love the Shimano Compre as well. I'd personally go with the *** Omem Black, been eyeing it for a while now.
  11. I have much more confidence in black or nickel, which makes a difference for me. Don't like red, mainly for worm hooks. I have a few crank baits with red back trebles.
  12. Do not buy it! Inaccurate, low quality, easily broke, battery cover falls off all of the time and the scale can't work without it. Do yourself a favor and get a different scale.
  13. Just starting off and you're already buying Megabass?!?! But seriously, you've got a great collection there, and very well organized. Keeping it organized? Well, that's a whole different story... I agree with the other users, definitely pick up some Spooks. Good luck out on the water, you now have NO excuse to get skunked
  14. Hedgehog Studio is pretty awesome
  15. Get a Daiwa Aird 2000 spinning reel. Best $90 you can spend on spinning gear. Somebody has a 2500 Aird in the flea market for $65 new I think. GREAT deal! I'd get a Shimano Crucial to go with it. Right at your price point if you buy both retail (which I know, you don't).
  16. If you're being serious, I can give you a résumé...
  17. Honestly, this has gotten way out of hand. None of this is what I meant by any of my posts. Quite honestly, my first post here was in a joking, sarcastic kind of way. But of course you can't get emotion out of text on a screen. I truly am sorry if I accidentally offended anybody in this thread, as that was not at all my intention. But, aprw1, if you want to play that way, fine. This is just from one of your posts that I found from a quick search: "but i am in desperate need of a spinning reel" Capitalize the "I". "and i don't have a job so i don't have a lot of money" Capitalize "I's". "happened at the most unfortunate time too cause" Comma after "too". "i just spent all the money i have saved" Capitalize "I's". "i will take it off your hands" Same with the "I". "doesn't matter to me if its 5 years old" Should be "it's" not "its". "long as it works i am fine with it." The "I" should be capitalized. "that i can give and also some" Need "I" say it? Also needs a comma after "give". "plastics that i can give." The "I". Yes, all of this in one post. Don't take this the wrong way, just pointing out that we all make mistakes, especially when we aren't thinking about it that much. I never said that my posts were flawless.
  18. You can take my post however you want, but that is not how I intended it to be received. Your advice was good, and the original poster and anybody else should be able to benefit off of it.
  19. Who said I dismissed the advice? The advice was there, the post was just a little hypocritical. I know that I always proof-read and try to be as professional sounding as I can.
  20. Not saying I'm perfect or anything, but don't criticize him on his grammatical errors before you fix your own!
  21. Look up Hedgehog Studio... some pretty neat stuff there
  22. I'm personally looking forward to the *** reels, a ton more than these... I didn't know Halo is coming out with reels either. Falcon Volt spinning reel is pretty trashy. My friend has one, didn't last long.
  23. I'll stick to American rods, I don't know anything about JDM stuff. G Loomis's are nice, but I want a St. Croix Legend Xtreme Tournament bass rod, 7'' or 7'1" MH fast action with a Daiwa Steez.
