  1. Just an update. I didnt catch any keepers this weekend at Eufaula. I did catch 19 short fish, a bluegill, and a turtle. I had a great time and learned some things. I guess fishing was tough this weekend. Out of 31 boats only 13 caught keepers and a few of those 13 only had 1. This was my first tournament and my first time fishing from a bass boat so Im chalking it up as a learning experience. Thank you guys for helping me out
  2. Thanks Bladesmith that helps a lot. I checked out that fishing report too. Is it normal for that kind of change in water temp. It says the temp went up about 10 degrees over the last week. I would have thought it would be about the same or a bit lower.
  3. It says, South Point Launch, Dobbs Road. Do you know where that is? Is it close to where you were?
  4. Ok, good deal. Ill be fishing the PVA. Since we will not be competing against each other I would appreciate any tips. I am traveling from Memphis and will not be able to get on the lake before the tournament. I am in a wheelchair and have never fished from my chair on a bass boat. Thats why i was thinking if I could get a few poles set up with baits that have a good chance of being successful my days might be a little less stressful.
  5. Are you fishing in the PVA tournament next weekend?
  6. Thanks Bladesmith, that is the type of information I have been waiting for. Any particular colors more successful than others? Ive managed to find some reports that browns are good for jigs but I havent found any good colors for soft plastics or the shad raps and bombers you mentioned. Im sure things can change even day to day. Im just trying to get an idea so I dont end up taking everything I own and making things overly complicated. Thanks again for the tips
  7. I just realized there is more than one Lake Eufaula. I will be fishing the Oklahoma Eufaula.
  8. I will be fishing Eufaula in a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any advice on baits and colors that have been productive? What is the water clarity, usually? If it helps I usually throw jigs, senkos, creatures, chatterbaits, and crankbaits. I am asking so that I have an idea what to take to make lure selection as simple as possible. Thanks
  9. I am so sorry. I should have specified that I am not a veteren. I am, however, paralyzed. The tournament is open to anyone that meets the disability requirements. I appreciate the advice.
  10. Thanks, that helps. I am trying to keep it simple. Im fishing this tournament to get a feel for fishing from a boat. I plan on fishing the way I normally fish and your suggestions fit the way I normally fish. Black and blue has always been good to me but I fish with more greens here than browns and from what information Ive been able to dig up on the interweb the fish out there seem to like the browns. So, browns it is.
  11. Hello all I am going to fish in my first tournament this month on Lake Eufaula in OK. It is the PVA bass tour. I am a paralyzed fisherman that normally fishes ponds and lakes from shore. This is going to be a new experience for me. Hopefully it is a good experience and I will want to fish some of the other tour stops. Anyway, Im not too concerned about the logistics of fishing from a wheelchair on a bass boat. I am asking for advice from those of you who have experience fishing that lake. I want to make sure I take the baits that will give me a decent chance at catching some fish. If it helps,, my confidence baits are jigs, senkos, squarebills, soft plastics. I would like to know what colors I need to be taking, sizes, etc. Also, if there are any baits that may not be confidence baits for me Im all ears. Thanks in advance for any input
