  1. wet sand and buff with pro-tec products. it works miracles
  2. any joints in the deck should be on your stringers/frame runners if possible.i realize marine plywood is expensive, but having less joints will make a better longer lasting floor. ask me how i know, lol
  3. 09' f 250 sd with a v-10 loaded lariat. pulls the ranger like it wasn't even there. about 12 mpg average
  4. fished saturday night and caught 30 nice slabs. got there late and fished the bridge, shallower areas were taken or would have done better. minnows did us right. going this weekend again and will be a little shallower this time and hoping to do well. eric if you wanna fish, give me a call with your schedule and we will try to hook up, think i am going to give the bass a little time for temps to stop fluctuating. mike
  5. eric, i ended up with a 998 si on console and an elite 7 hdi on tm. how is the lake doing? i have been super busy and taking on way too much work. just took on a contract with a marina on jackson to do all their led lighting, so along with the reel/tackle biz and that. then i let somebody talk me into taking on a bath remodel too. gonna fish this weekend though. will hit u up and see what you are up to. take care, mike
  6. +1 fish tape works the best.
  7. hey eric, Insurance came thru. going electronics shopping this week. kinda disgusted with lowrance, but my boat is set up with lowrance cables and such. was looking at a HB 999 si hd. the side imaging is pretty neat. also the hds 10 kinda caught my eye. any suggestions?
  8. went out on the 2nd and caught about 8. got bit a lot anyways, was mostly dropshotting, fishing from the bank out. surprise of the day was a couple small yellow perch.
  9. that is on all their rods? or just the carbonlite? surely different trade in prices on different priced rods. thanx, mike
  10. when is the rod trade in happening? thanx
  11. get a bearing blaster. i service about 75 reels a month and this is the best 7 bucks i have ever spent
  12. I DO LED LIGHTING FOR SOME OF THE LOCAL MARINAS. they can be had fairly inexpensive and you can make up your own kits. very easy to do.
  13. get a bearing blaster, best 7.00 i ever spent. thanx
  14. came down and figured we would eat before putting in, breakfast at waffle house cost me both my chartplotters and 2 brand new veritas and revo 3 stx-hs with new power pro and 2 lc pointers, never even got them wet. sorry i didnt call but was p o'd and just went home. dealing with insurance now. almost new elite 7 hdi and a as new hds 8. hoping to get this handles before water warms up. keep me posted on the lake please. thanx, mike
  15. stopped at dick's and they were having a clearance on about 98% of their tackle. oh my, i should have never went in! 3700 and 3600 boxes on clearance, just couldnt help myself as the ten or so emptys i have now may just not be enough. LOL guess the coffin boxes will have to wait for a while, just purchased about 8 of the old shimano boxes time to re-organize- again! oh well there are worst vices to have i guess.
  16. +1 when you feel you have to buy new storage for the stuff that never leaves the house. just didn't look right in that old box. my garage is 3700 city, and now i am getting tired of them and thinking about going bass mafia boxes. it never ends!
  17. eric, was thinking about heading up there tomorrow. any recommendations? hows the water temp? still have your number, will bring plastics for your son if i do come. think its worth the trip? was thinking about a- rigs and some jerkbait fishing maybe? what ya think?
  18. eric, i have a bunch of plastics for your son, he should have a heyday with them, buzzed bait added a few packs when i saw him the other day. will let you know when i will get back down to WP and we can meet up, maybe do some fishing if you are free.you and yours take care, mike
  19. one bay is full of rod racks and the other is shelves of bags and 3700's. truck and ranger sit in driveway. from joliet, used to fish coal city way all the time. small world
  20. I wish I could get my spending down to that figure.20 rods and as many reels in the last couple weeks, just cant seem to pass up a good deal. I buy a lot during winter months.
  21. never take a rod to the p.o. to ship it. go to usps.com and print your own label with ins. pack as stated above and 2-3 lbs. priority will be about 12 bucks or so coast to coast. you can also schedule a pickup and never have to leave the house. they will pick it up right off your front porch. hope this helps.
  22. When does it change from just being a fisherman with a nice arsenal to an addictive thing? I think I passed junkie status long ago.crepping towards being a hoarder. what are the signs.....................?
  23. have not been out in a bit due to weather. get in touch if you want to get out sometime, maybe we can hook up with eric and he can show us a spot or two. lol
  24. fishing this winter in cold water made me think of something else, pack a go bag with a set of clothes and have in the truck.even after getting safely out of the water and to the truck. someone is gonna have to ride home naked! or freeze in wet clothes. might be kinda embarrasing. think about it.
  25. bought 2 combos both sellus rods with solstace 2500 reels. one worm and jig and 1 drop shot , both 6'8. both rung up at 44.99 each. not the best combo but at that price was a steal. just a heads up!
