  2. Havent hit any local lakes yet as i am specifically going for the bass but they are going pretty good on the river.......smallies are pretty agressive. -Lewi
  3. BPS Pro Qualifier
  4. I use 30lb (8lb mono dia) on 20, 25 size reels without any issues. -Lewi
  5. Don't know if it is the best but I use a Double Uni-Knot in that situation. Have also done the blood knot too. -Lewi
  6. Thanks for the replies boys. Looks like there is more than enough things that I can use this rod for and it wont go to waste! -Lewi
  7. There are a ton of different rods in that $100-$150 range and I think it's mostly personal preference as to what you choose and not necessarily a "best" one. Go to your favorite store and grab a few to mess with.....it may come down to what handle you like best.....you never know! -Lewi
  8. Strike King Spit-n-King/ LiveTarget or Spro frog Rage Tail Craw Jig & Craw
  9. Hey bigfish2! Welcome. Now you'll be hooked......great group here.
  10. There are so many sweet swim jigs to choose from it makes my head spin. What has been awesome for me is the Gambler Ez swimmers like joedodge stated. I will texas rig 'em. -Lewi
  11. Time to play around a bit here. I have a GSX Titanium 6'6 MH rod that I need to figure out what to use it for. Here is what I am currently using for casting rod purposes: Veritas 7'0 - swim jigs/cranks......my search rod I guess Veritas 7'3 - Flipping/Frogging Veritas 7'3 - football jigs/spinner bait/buzz bait My idea is that i use it for skipping jigs, some under hand roll cast stuff, target casting, and top water....... All the finesse stuff I am doing with my spinning reels and have been doing top water too which I suppose I could so with the 6'6....... Feel free to switch things up as necessary. -Lewi
  12. I've had the Bridgestone Duler AT Revos on my older Tahoe and loved them...more noise than the Goodyear that were on there before but a great tire none-the-less. I know that it didn't really answer your question but I liked the Bridgestone's that I had.
  13. Alright....we are close to spring and i'm itching to see whats new to you guys or more pics of what you have! -Lewi
  14. Like ABW said...if your worried tie on a leader. I really don't understand you saying that it is thick though. At 65 lbs its only at a 16 lb mono dia. and then down from there.
  15. Care to elaborate why?
  16. *****UPDATE***** So, I have purchased a reel and I went a completely different direction. I had decided that neither the Hellcat or the Supreme was what I wanted with touching and what you all provided to me. I had thought hard about the Abu Orra SX before and after those options since I am a Abu fan but went a totally different direction. I ended up going with the Ardent Apex Tournament reel. Love the feel of the reel and really cant wait to get it out and flip some in the yard.
  17. I do agree with your statement here 100%.
  18. I see that I am getting a lot of quantum suggestions. Now, I have 3 Quantum spinning reels and they have been fantastic over the years but haven't ever owned a baitcaster. I have a friend that fishes a lot and says that they don't last as long as he'd like and he would suggest that I steer clear and go another direction...........?
  19. Thanks for the replies. I will steer clear of the cheaper model Quantum reels.
  20. Just saw the Quantum Hellcat baitcasting reel and thought hmmmm....... Now, I haven't been a fan of Quantum baitcasting reels but figured i'd toss it out there. My other thought is the Pflueger Supreme which I have heard some good things about. For me, these will not be overly used reels...not a tourney guy and usually get out once a week and 1 or 2 days on the weekend...kids sports dictate when I get out. So with that said toss me some thoughts on the 2 if you have any and if your going to toss out something else which I'm sure some will keep me under $100. -Lewi
  21. Was checking this out at the boat show last weekend and I have to say you could have a decent size party on the front deck of that boat! Seems that color options are endless too. Nice ride!
  22. This boat has taken me where I want to go, treated me very well, and I have absolutely no complaints about it.
  23. Ready to get back in the water!!!!!!!
  24. My toy hauler
