  1. So quiet here...does that mean everyone's boats are winterized? 60's in store for next week. Plan on getting out. Anyone still pounding the water? Wondering if water temps will get back to a spot where it might activate the fish just enough. Thoughts?
  2. That sounds like a ton of fun. I need to try that. Gimruis you are having an outstanding season...good for you. You’re catching for all the rest of us. Very mediocre for me.
  3. Was up on the lacs this past Saturday and yes it was tougher than tough. Fall bite is just around the corner.
  4. Have my eyes open plenty wide and place me firmly in the camp of I want both. I want technology to disrupt the need for this copper so we don’t need to make such a trade off. Restricting or the poor economics of its use ...or both can be catalysts for technological breakthroughs. The economic benefit to the region is boom then bust. These situations are well studied and understood. Unfortunately due to the poisonous nature of the mining, the only thing that will be long lasting is the impact on the ecosystem. Nothing was ever gained by accepting the status quo. I hope most will agree that we must expect more than “yep if you want all this technology then you have to accept all of the damaging things that come along with it” mentality.
  5. Lol. Good point. Didn’t pay attention to the dates of the entries. Thought it was just started.
  6. I find it strange that it took to page four to mention the Ned.
  7. Yes this may be the case which allows them to lower the advertised price. However, pricing it that low is where they are using it as a promotional item to drive traffic. It’s their prerogative but many times it can backfire and create ill will with their core customer base. I’m not sure how mad people should get? Because if you got one you would be happy and not complain. If you were left out then you are upset. I guess I would rather them offer the deal so at least there’s a chance for me to get it at a basement price. Idk. I have found my experience with cabelas has dropped significantly making me want to spend my time and money elsewhere. And maybe thats the bottom line...if you don’t like what they are doing or how you are treated seek out others who do treat you the way you want to be treated.
  8. Wonder if this is in store only or online as well?
  9. Placing this in the rt thread. Beautiful night last night on the water in the west metro. Females are off the spawn. Caught 12 all together so not a bad night. Landed 2 at 18 inches 1 a 17 inches. 9 more smaller than that. Green pumpkin Ned rig and dark colored senko. They were at the weed line or near clumps of weeds.

  11. Standing ovation on that reply. What a thorough, well thought out response...thank you for sharing your experience and what works for you. I learned quite a bit. Great post.
  12. I’m with shimmy. Over 7 lbs here in MN and you just started bass fishin. Maybe you tell US some of your recommendations. ?
  13. Agreed...with all the application specific rod talk, we forget that many of us grew up fishing an ugly stick and did just fine. I say get some rods, perfect your craft, enjoy landing fish.
  14. The Columbia PFG shirts are cheaper on Amazon, with more selection, and free shipping.
  15. You will also see by the DNR lake survey that there is not an over abundance of large fish. My first hand experience fishing this lake a number of times a few years ago confirms it. i have caught fish greater than 18 inches there but very few and afar between. So many lakes other lakes to choose from.
  16. I was out yesterday late afternoon and evening. The bass have the COVID19 pattern down as they are keeping their distance from all baits. Caught one unsuspecting dink. Slow start to the season.
  17. Gander won’t allow ordering anything on back order. Should just say that it’s out of stock.
  18. Miserable day today. Landed only a pike. Stayed with reaction bite stuff and plastics. Tried a jig for only a little bit and went back to a swim bait. Colder conditions made it tough for me water temp was 54 most of the day.
  19. Thanks plawren, picked up the SLP. Too good to pass up. Looks like a great reel. It will fill out my baitcast arsenal. Need to finish off my spinning set ups as well. My presidents are fine...especially for the price. They get the job done. Always think it would be nice to upgrade as the opportunity presents itself.
  20. The main metro lakes of Harriet, Calhoun , etc are good producers as well. I’ve caught some great fish from shore from the chain of lakes.
  21. I was wondering the same thing. Something seems a bit fishy to me. If you research them there are plenty of warning signs there.
  22. Just wondering...Why have you gone away from the bandits?
  23. Avid x with the micro guides...would need to be 50% off for me to take a sniff.
  24. Heads up that the gander outdoors in lakeville has a 50% off sale on almost everything in the store. Includes non ice fishing baits, rods and reels. I walked out out of there today w a Daiwa ballistic 2500 for $115, a presidential xt for $35, and an avid x spinning rod medium xf for $110. I believe it will continue until inventory is drawn down. Hear they want to make room for moving some RV’s into the retail space so they need the room. Note that the cashiers are having to manually mark everything down at the register so the checkout line was extremely long. For this discount it was worth the wait.
  25. St Croix's split grip Premiers are on sale at Cabela's.
