  1. I found them at Dicks on sale for $3.50
  2. Megastrike E2 Pro, VMC Rugby, I use a Zoom worm on the Megastrike, and Pit Boss on the VMC, I also like the Missle Baits Crazy Craw on either, or Carolina Rigged.
  3. Looks like they will also come in a deep version like the X Rap, I did a search on flea bay and someone is selling one
  4. I will definatley have to pick a few of these up, I am a Jerkbait Junkie
  5. Yep, all the time, my neighbors think I am crazy. I have a large greenbelt behined my house where I usually practice. One day I was testing out my casting distance, tied on a 3/8oz practice weight, and let it fly. I got 50yrds a few times, decided to go down to 1/4oz thats when the wind picked up. This wouldnt have been a problem, but there are high tension power lines that run parallel to where I was casting, sure enough I launched one, and a huge gust of wind carried it around the line closest to me. I know mono shouldnt be cinductive, but these are like 51,000 volt lines, and the power is carried on the outsice of the line, I was a little worried, but I would have been dead before I knew what hit me. So I dropped my rod, and grabbed a knife with a thick rubber handle, and cut the line. Unfortunately the weight wrapped around the line, so it didnt just fall down and the pigtail that you tie the fishing line to was touching the power line and making an arc. I had to call Bonneville Power and have them come out and fix it, they showed up with 3 trucks, all the lights on and it took 2hrs to get it down becuase they had to call and shut them down, and fillout a bunch of paperwork, but they got it down in one tug with their safe stick. So for now I am practicing out front, and of course every neighbor that comes by has the same joke, "you catch anything".
  6. Never had that happen with a Bass, but I had the same thing happen with a 18" Rainbow.
  7. Smallies, the lip line and, mouth size on yours is too small to be a LM. Smallies come in different colors, most have vertical lines and are brown in color, but that can vary. They are both nice sized Smallies, SM are my favorite target.
  8. I will have to pickup some of the Jerkbaits
  9. Iaconelli is one of my favorites, I love how he Ike's out and how excited he get, plus I like seeing the reactions of the people around him. The other fisherman at the top of my list is Shaw Grigsby, his attitude and humor make him very entertaining to follow. I alway root for Gary Klein too, for some reason he reminds me of a golfer my Dad follows Jim Furyk. I enjoy watching all of them on MLF and B.a.s.s., I always pickup some tip or hint that helps me out.
  10. I have had some sucess in warmer water, but latley its been so hot I havent had much success at all. At a smaller lake that is 90% milfoil off the dock the only thing I can get to work is a Rooster Tail. Thanks Dwight, I think they are Owner hooks, I am ordering a set from TW, I saw a review of the Jerkbait on Tackle Tour, and they mentioned the hooks were Owner.
  11. Here in WA none of the lakes get stocked with Bass, if I happen to have one die I will keep and eat it, otherwise I never keep Bass. I dont even keep Trout anymore unless I am going to eat it that day, there are enough people around here taking their lomit (an then some) everyday, then they wonder why there isnt any holdover Trout in the winter. If there wa a larger population of Bass in my area, I would consider taking one every now an then, but our state does nothing to preserve the Bass population, and has no limit on how many you can take, so I choose to release them if I can.
  12. I have nothing but great things to say about the Duo Realis Spinbaits, the 80 and GFix produce bites everywhere I go. I have caught Smallies, LM, all kinds of Trout, Big Trout, on them. I usually start by letting the Spinbait sink to the bottom, or just above the weed line, depending on the lake. Then simply reel it in with a slow steady retrieve, and it usually isnt long before I get a bite. There are a few different ways to fish these, but I have found that works 90% of the time. Another way I will fish it is let it sink to the desired depth, reel it in about 6 cranks, and let it sink again, then repeat. I havent had as much success with that method but I dont use that method very often. I currently have 4 different colors, 2 Spinbait 80 one Ghost Gill, and Ghost M Shad. I also have 2 of the G Fix, one Emperor, one Ghost Pearl. I have had the most success with the Ghost Gill, it has bite marks all over. I plan on getting a few more, one in sexy pink for sure, since the SM at my favorite lake like that color. If you havent picked up one of these yet, you should. I am also going to try their jerkbait very soon. On a side note, I had a snag with one of my spinbaits, popped it loose, it can flyinb back at me and stuck in my knee. Luckily Dad was with me and use to be an EMT, he cut the shank off the rear treble stuck in my knee and popped the point back out. Yeah it sucked having to pull the hook out, I was more mad about ruining my treble hook, does anyone know what hooks Duo uses for the Spinbait 80?
  13. The local Kmart by my house always has some different lures or plastics maked 50% off, last month I picked up some green pumpkin chartruse Yum Dingers last month. This month I tried to cut back my internet buying, but no luck. I lost my favorite Duo Realis Spinbait 80, so I picked up another in Ghost Gill, and another 3 in diffferent colors. I have a hard time passing up a good buy, especially when I have some mad money, and there is always something shiny that catches my eye.
  14. Caught my first Smallie today on a Spro Little John in Old Glory. The water was a little murky, and overcast.
  15. Hi I recently purchased a few Swimbaits, Spro BBZ-1 Sr and Jr, Mattlures U2 Bluegill, Lucky Craft Real California, and a few smaller ones. I picked up a Mojo Bass Swimbait rod (also have to get a tube to transport it on my roof rack) and I am wondering what kind of reel will be best. My favorite reel is the Lews BB1 Pro, I have 2 and plan to add many more, would the BB1 Pro 6:4:1 have enough power for swimbaits? I looked at the Lews Super Duty, but they have the same drag rating, and of the 2 I would perfer the Pro. I am a lefty so the 6:4:1 is the lowest gear ratio the Pro offers in left, and I like that ratio. Any input is appreciated
  16. Thanks gripnrip, I will be picking up the Mojo Bass Glass Target, the price is right, for how far I can cast and my height, I really dont need much longer if a rod. Gonna take a ride and see if I cant find one local, if not TW, BPS, and even Dicks has them.
  17. I was in a similar situation last year, I didnt find a 2pc glass rod, but I picked up a Cabelas XML 6'6" MH F and it has been an excellent rod, they have a M MH and H all in fast action, in different lengths. Since then I got a little bit bigger car that allows up to 7' one peice rods, but the XML 6'6" MH F is my go to all around rod, they are very sensitive, and if you didnt know it was a 2pc you wouldnt know. Good Luck
  18. Thanks, I am leaning towards the Mojo Glass Target, and the Veritas. I like that the Mojo Glass Target is 6'10" I have shoulder issues, and long rods (especially over 7') wear me out. I wish it was rated for 1/4-1oz, but in all honesty I rarley toss anything over 3/4, and I have a Cabelas XML H F thats good from 3/8-2oz I use for jigs, and it handles the heavy lures fine, just need to reel slower since I have a Lews BB1 7:1:1 on it
  19. I recently picked up a Lews Tournament SS MG 5:1:1 and I am looking to pair it with a crankbait Specific rod. I have allot of crankbaits, Arashis, Strike Kings, River2Sea, Reaction Strike, that vary from 1/4oz to 1 1/4oz. I admit I am not the best when it comes to tossing lighter than 3/8oz lures with a asting reel, so I usually go with a spinning rod. I mostly fish from a dock or bank, but have some access to a boat. I am also limited on space the longest 1 piece rod I can fit im my vehicle is 7'. I have been looking at the Mojo Bass Glass Target Crankster for a bit, I like that it is glass, and the range of lures it will handle is decent. I have also been looking at the original Mojo Bass Crankbait rod which is graphite, but it is a little longer, and handles lures up to 1oz. I fish at a local lake almost exclusively, it is a smaller lake, with a muddy bottom, and lots of milfoil. Because of this I use a good amount of squarebills, and shallow crankbaits, but I do fish other lakes that I are deep and rocky. I have also been looking at the Pinnacle Perfecta DCHC 5 7' MH Moderate model dch5-701CAMHCB. What are the advantages of glass or graphite in weeds? Is there another rod I should be looking at? Also I am looking for a decent (preferably under $100) Topwater rod, in the 3/8-1oz MH rating, I have looked at the Vendetta 6'6" MH XF also I found a Veritas 6'9" MH XF for $70 at a local shop, I am on the short side but I can use a 6'6" rod to walk the dog without issue, I am using a Revo SX 6:3:1 for my topwater reel.
  20. Here is one of my finished products, the Perch has been a great color for me
  21. Looks good, I havent seen any Heddon Dressed Spooks, but I havent checked much online. I just picked up some supplies to dress my own, found most everything at a local craft store, much cheaper than a fishing shop or fly supply. They are also a great place to find beads cheaper than the fishing store packs.
  22. SenkoSam, I agree, cigar shaped took me a little while to figureout, my LC Sammy 115's were much easier to walk. I think everyone who wants to learn how to walk the dog should pickup at least one Sammy, they get on a plane quicker than any other lure I have tried to walk. I have a few cheap banana shaped walkers from Cabelas and BPS that I could never really get good action out of, but since I have been using Sammys, I amgetting better action out of them. They were maybe $3 each I didnt have high expectations, but overall I am happy.
  23. Smalljaw67 I will be bumping the split ring size up one size, the Owner #2 is just a tad small, I think #3 will be perfect. Also I did put some Zap a Gap CA (super) Glue on the threads. I dont know if Zap a Gap Glue is used by many fishermen, but it is excellent glue, as the name entails you can use it to fill gaps, glue lmost anything together, and it dries clear. I have used Zap a Gap for many years for repairing carbon fiber, glueing tires to rims, and many other things in the RC Car Racing world, its great stuff.
  24. Thanks Maxximus, I thought about some glue or red thread lock, I will have to do that.
