  1. I picked up a LC Slender Pointer 97 MR in Original Tennessee Shad, LC1.5 in BE Gill, and a LC1.5RTO in Gun Metal. Also grabbed a few more Japan Exclusive Megabass Vision 110's.
  2. Picked up another Spro Fat John 60 in Chrome Olive, and a Lucky Craft Fat CB BDS 2 in Gunmetal Shad, the flashy lures drive SM and LM crazy at my local lake. The water is crystal-clear almost all the time, and the flash imitates Kokanee really well. For those that dont know what Kokanee are, they are a type of sockeye salmon, they have blue backs, and bright chrome sides.
  3. I have been using the VMC Drop Dead Hooks
  4. Nice, I have about half that many, GG Smalmouth, Pumpkinseed, Ozark Shad, and GG Bass are my big producers. I picked up a few more 110's today, Pro Blue, Killer Kawaguchi, and SB Zebra (like the Purple but Black). I also got a Giant Dog-X in PM Riagyo (found it new super cheap), Pumpkinseed, See Through Glitter Ayu, and French Pearl OB. These will be my first Giant Dog-X's, looking forward to them.
  5. I just picked up a Lucky Craft LV500 in Smallmouth and a LV500GP (Blade) in Gun Metal Shad, I have always had a few Redeye Shads, and Rat L Traps, but I never had much confidence in them. My biggest Smallies have come on SM painted baits, so I figured I would try the LV500, and I thought the LV500 Spin in Gun Metal would be a good Kokanee color. We will see, I still consider myself a novice, I have caught a few big SM, and a 5# LM, but I am still learning how to fish allot of my gear. I also picked up a new Megabass Ito Vision 110 in a "limited" edition color, Puple Tiger. https://fbcdn-photos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t1.0-0/r270/s480x480/11223596_1066050296753581_3765706911762256780_n.jpg?oh=9a9f3dc31390b10a0c9b4be606a549ad&oe=568CAEF6&__gda__=1453531504_daf8911b8afc4619180cf50fa0d10a1chope the link woks, if not do a search its a flamboyant color. I dont know it it will catch fish or not, I like collecting odd colors and Vision 110's in general. I almost forgot, I got a Livingston Dive Master in Real Shad, it was marked down to $2.99 at a lttle gas station that has some fishing stuff. Not sure if they miss marked it, I dont know about the sound technology, but for $3 I will throw it.
  6. Thanks for the replies, I have some of the smaller Rats on preorder, I will probably just wait for them to be released. I got some spare money burnin a hole in my pocket, and I am going to be in a nice house on an excellent SM and LM lake for 9 days. I was looking at the MS Slammer 7" which is 1 3/4oz maybe that will work better with a MB 7' H, like bluebasser86 said it is a pool que, I use it for Strike King 8.0 SB lures all the time, and it feels like it could handle allot more.
  7. Thanks, I will try one, I saw a video with the BBZ-1 Designer and he recommended a TFO 7'3" H, I know they are very different rods, but the numbers are very similar.
  8. Hi I would like to give the BBZ-1 Rat a try, I have a few of the LiveTarget Feild Mouse, and the Bass in my area love em. This may be the wrong section, but I was wondering if a Mojo Bass Frog n Slop 7' H F would be enough rod to handle this bait? I already have Frog n Slop Rod and if I can get away with using it for a BBZ Rat I would rather use hat, then have to buy a Swimbait rod.
  9. I use my Frog n Slop as an all around heavy bait rod, I like it for my Spro LJ DD. Give nit a try, I am thinking about picking up a BBZ-1 Rat and using the MB F&S, the designer recommemds a TFO 7'3" H rod that is rated to 1 1/2oz lures, and I would rather use a rod I have then buying a MB Swimbait rod for one bait.
  10. The 8.0 is definatley not 3/4oz, I throw mine on my 7 hf Mojo Bass for now, hopefully I will get a boat and be able to transport longer rods soon, once I do I will be using a 7'6 MHMF, that will also become my deep crank rod
  11. Well, I am starting to believe in the Ned Rig, I went out today, conditions were tough, I ended up with one 2# LM on the New Money TRD and Red Shroom. I like the New Money Color, I had multiple bites, but I thought I was hung up on a couple, and missed the bite. I just got the Chartreuse Shroomz and Chartreuse TRD, today, I am going to try them tomorrow. I did loose a few rigs, it nis scattered rock, and I had a couple get stuck between some rocks. The finish on the Shroomz is ok, I will say any contact with a rock and they do chip.
  12. I have tried the "Ned Rig" I havent had a bite her, but I fish from the bank or a dock, and ffinding the fish has been hard latley. I have had better results with a Wacky Rigged Moneymaker, but I will continue to try the Ned Rig.
  13. Good ole spellcheck. Another excellent choice for jerkbaits, especially fishing for Smallmouth is the Koppers Livetarget Smallmouth and Largemouth, my personal best Smallmouth was on the Livetarget Smallmouth Jerkbait, also my avatar pic
  14. I know its not a big deal, but does anyone know what size and manufacturer split ring Megabass is now putting on the 1.5 S-Crank line tie?
  15. Thank You Fishballer06, I am looking forward to giving the Black Back Chartreuse a try.
  16. I havent been able to find one, TW is either out or has not gotten them, as are all of my usual avenues. I saw you bought it at a Field and Stream store, I didnt know they had stores, I live in the Pacific North West, closest thing we have is a Dicks, and they dont carry Megabass lures.
  17. I just ordered some of the 1.5's and I will be adding some 1.2's, the 1.5 and 1.2 doesnt denote the size, but the depth in which they run. Most places have fixed the weight on these, the 1.2's actually weigh 3/8 oz, and the 1.5's are 1/2 oz. I bank fish allot and dont take many rods with me so I usually use a duo lock snap so I can change baits quicker, hopefull this will allow the hunting action, if not I will add a split ring. Hopefully the Black Back Chartreuse will be out in 1.5 soon, thats my favorite size and color for the lake I fish the most.
  18. Lake Sawyer has some big SM as well as LM, the lake record LM is just over 11lbs.
  19. Tropical Perch should be a great producer, the color is a light peach with vertical grey stripes and a pearl metallic coat. Redear, darker peach under the bill that finishes with a white stripe, and the top is a metallic violet grey that fades down the side. They should be hityin the market anytime now, I am suprised Tackle Warehouse has not gotten any yet, from what I understand, it shouldn't be long and they will be hitting the shelves.
  20. Iam pretty sure Bass Pro Shop has them online, Tacle Warehouse did last I looked, if all else fails ebay
  21. I just received 4 of the New Spro Little John XL lures in the mail, though I havent got them wet yet, I have high hopes for these big lures. Since I caught my first SM on a Little John MD in Old Glory, I have been a fan of the John Crews lineup of lures. The new Spro Little John XL is just that, an XL version of the origional LJ circuit board lure. The XL runs about 8ft on 12# line according to JC, and is made for stained murky water, where a larger profile easeier for Bass to see. Being an XL version of the origional, its basically a XL squarebill that runs 8ft. I received the 3 new colors, Baby Bass, Tropical Perch and Spicy, as well as the always popular Cellmate. One of the great things about the LJ Lures is that they are good anytime of the year, the flatside lure has an excellent tight wiggle, and the tungsten weight that has a (rubber) coating gives off a one knocker style vibration without the sometimes loud sound that can spook Bass. The finish is top notch, I expected nothing less from Spro, every product I have picked up from them has been. On occasion the LJ's I have bought did need some tuning, but that is to be expected, lures are mass produced. I am looking forward to getting these lures in the water, so I can get more information about how the lure performs, but I expect it will live up to my expectations. Spicy Tropical Perch Baby Bass Cellmate XL (Spicy) and Little John 50 (Western Chartreuse)
  22. Livetarget Smallmouth Jerkbait Xcalibur XCS100 Smallmouth X-Rap Pop Yellow Perch I also had excellent results with the Little John Lineup, as well as DT-6-14 I will be honest I have never been much of a plastics fisher, and I have never caught a Bass on a dropshot, I only recently caught my first wacky rig Bass, maybe caught a dozen texas rigged or deadstick rigged, and I have never caught a Bass on a jig. I admit I dont fish any of them very much, probably because I mostly bank fish and I like to cover as much water as fast as I can, and with such limited success with plastics, it doesent inspire much confidence.
  23. Dont know how I forgot to add the jerkbait that has caught my biggest Smallies, Koppers Livetarget Smallmouth. Smallmouth are carnivorous fish, and when they spawn they create their own forage. I have caught my 2 biggest Smallies the one in my avatar a 4+lb, and a 3.5lb, during and post spawn, but it works year round.
  24. Thanks Road Warrior, I will check that color out. I also thought I had a Western Clown, but I dont, so I will have to pickup one of those as well
  25. Spro Mcrip, Mcstick, X Raps, Shadow Rap, Megabass Vision 110 and Ito, I have never had a Megabass bill fall or break off, I have 12 or so, if one does I have delt with MB before, and they were top notch. I am having trouble finding a MB Vision 110 color for a clear lake that I fish allot, anyone have a suggestion? I was thinking a French Pearl, either the French Pearl Oblique or Sexy. There are allot of Rainbow Trout, some Kokanee, Sunfish, and Yellow Perch n the lake, and they I know they like yellow perch. Any assistance is appreciated.
