  1. It would need to eat 1500 more calories then it burned to gain 1 pound with the %10 body weight of row. So it doesn't seem to farfetched when you look at it this way.
  2. Let's just say if a bass ate 1 pound of shad a day it would consume about 900 calories a day 6300 calories a week and 25200 calories in a month. Even if the bass burned half of those calories it ate it would gain about 4 pounds in a month. (3000 calories in a pound) If this were biologically possible their would tons of fish in the 8-10# range in most lakes.
  3. My grandpa taught me to bring a baseball bat when ever you go fishing. He didn't keep fish LOL
  4. I've lost so many cleos in the niagara river it isn't even funny.
  5. Thanks for the info. I'm just resorting to splitshots and parachute cord. I made atleast 100 of them yesterday lol
  6. Where do you buy the lead shot for the slinky rigs?
  7. I have some free time tomorrow ill do some research and get back to you.
  8. Sweet! You have a lot of fun ahead of you! Once you catch a big ole pig the addiction gets even worse.....
  9. Yes, and starting Nov 1st they basically run as much water through the plant as they can. They do the same at night time during tourist season, they have to run so many gallons per minute over the falls during tourist season. They use the reservoir during the day to make up for the lack of water during the day. I'm pretty sure it doesn't take long to fill but the level stays low the whole winter.
  10. They run it through turbine generators at the power authority, and fill the reservoir. It comes out at the bottom of the power authority.
  11. I totally agree with you, knots and drag are every thing to landing big fish.
  12. They suck it down with two 50 foot diameter pipes just above the falls.
  13. I can mount a 30mm Gatling on your vehicle for a small price of $599.
  14. The Power Authority sucks the Lower River down starting November 1st, Does this affect the bass fishing? I have never been bass fishing this late in the year, once the Salmon and Steelhead start running in August all my fishing is focused on them!
  15. If the spool doesn't have holes in it I will run a backing of equal diameter line.
  16. Yea but I always run a FC leader, but their not like pike/musky teeth. I wouldn't recommend lipping it like a bass though lol
  17. So when my line breaks on a 25 pound salmon I can blame you guys right? lol JK! Thanks All!
  18. It depends on how much the water temp changes and how cloudy the water is. This weekend the water was like chocolate milk, most of the guys I talked to were having a bad weekend of fishing. Check the dec fishing report before you go down their!
  19. I just got a deal on some #30 power pro, but the line was made in 2009. It's been in the box and never exposed to sunlight. Think it still will be safe to use?
  20. Well thanks for the input everyone. I finally made up my mind and I'm going with an Dawia Lexa 300!
  21. How heavy are the round baitcasters? I'm fishing from shore and will be casting all day so weight is a big factor.
  22. I can totally agree with you. The more you know the better you will become! I my self have to start tieing some steelhead flies and egg patterns before the big run.
  23. How do you like your bb1? I'm intrested in a Lew's Tournament MG Speed Spool.
