  1. rumor has it they will be on china, cobby and great pond. The rest of the country will soon find out what it's like out here... Great pond will be an amazing fishery for this format. You can pull up and catch 2 pound smallies on grass flats literally all day. No exaggeration. the last 3 or so tournaments I fished had a 6-7 pound lunker largemouth too. Just typing this is making me excited. China is gonna be a slug fest for a lot of the guys.
  2. Tournament Sunday on Thompson lake. Fishing has been reall great in the area hopefully it's the same. Like bob mentioned I've been on some better than decent fish in nearly inches of water. Lost a few trophy fish in the last week but hopefully I'm saving it for when it counts
  3. Also had a run in with a 14 inch largemouth with a piercing...
  4. Hey guys, its been a while. Life has been insaine between prom nearly a month ago and graduation last weekend. Been having crazy work hours but I've managed to get out in the yak a few times with my buddy's. Been hitting panther a lot and a few other lakes but here are the highlights.
  5. if vibrating jig is included under jig. Jig.
  6. finally recognize the background of that lake easily one of my top 5 favorite lakes when its flooded!
  7. Too bad. I used to have a peacock in my aquarium, you almost had to give me 40 bucks Im in. I plan on getting out for an hour or so everyday in the foreseeable future. My next tournament is not for a little bit but there should be plenty of fun fishing.
  8. Tournament on saturday at little sebago, Finished poorly but I cant take cold weather fishing so the first and last one are ussually a bust for me. I caught 9.11 pounds in three fish, winning was 22 pounds with a ton of bags in the 18-20 range. Same pattern i used caught the winning fish, which was a wiggle wart reeled slowly on banks with rock and ~6 foot average. Funny story my fishing partner weighed in 6.66 pounds for the first bag weighed of the year, too spooky for me.
  9. Or you could use who ever caught the biggest lunker at your tournaments then those three qualify. I would approve the kids that showed up more, sure they may not have finished high but if you sat them you would be saying dedication counts for nothing.
  10. In order: Body of water, season, entry fee, payout, format
  11. Got out on arrowhead today for an hour hooked up on one about two pounds good to catch a fish on a big lake.
  12. I run the Navionics chip. It is a god send, I dont say that lightly. Even for 5 years of tournament fishing im still fishing new to me lakes every year. And it really does help eliminate water very quickly. There are still some lakes that don't have the detailed contours or any at all. I would highly recommend getting a card.
  13. Elaztech and roboworm are my two go to baits for drop shot. I didnt say this but Morning Dawn Now all the southwest anglers are going to try and make me sleep with the fishes.
  14. So I froze I I disagree off in a long sleeve shirt but I went and threw a cast. Fish were surprisingly active. Saw a few in skinny water and had a few flashes on the jerk bait and switched over to a 4 inch Senko and got this little guy. Also someone threw a 12-14 foot jon boat into a scrap pile at my uncles pit. Guess who is going to fix it up? this guy. So looks like i can be all nautical and stuff now. Already have a humminbird i can put on it along with a 2.5 mariner lol definitly going to have to save for something with a little more beef. Also have access to a ton of different trolling motors. This summer is going to be crazy good.
  15. your best bet would to either join a club if you are looking for some commitment and more low key tournaments. The best way to find a club that fits for you is to go to a meeting and network with the current members to get a gauge on what the club is about, whether that be fun or more serious. The other route you could do is fish an open, which anyone can fish. The entry fees are typically higher but it gives you a taste of what a tournament is like. The competition is usually more stiff at these but have a greater payout.Your best bet would be to connect with a tournament fisherman if you know any or google the lake you want to fish and look for opens. Usually these have a team format which is what you are looking for.
