  1. Looks like she's ready for the spawn. Good lawd!
  2. It really doesn't see much pressure unless it's from the bank. It's a kayak and canoe only reservoir, and doesn't see to many of those. It was Blue Bird skies and visibility about 3ft. A lot of these bass weren't skittish when I walked up to the bank they were just cruising. I just think they are still kind is slow up here plus the spawn is late. I SHALL OVER COME THIS!
  3. Oh man, that's a fatty bomb blatty. I think I see a scuba diver in the water.;-)
  4. Even from the bank?
  5. I have been going back to the same reservoir for the past couple of weeks, and the reason I do is because it's loaded with bass. Yesterday the fam went again around 5p and it solidified my reasoning. The side I was fishing on I seen 4 3lb + bass either cruising the shallows or just relaxing in the shade, and probably starting their spawn. Then my wife told me she saw 2 more of same size on the other side. Also saw plenty smaller bass around. With all those yaps in the water why am I only getting followers. I've used different baits different speeds, and different sizes still no luck. Except yesterday, I was using a Sieberts blue gill Fogy chatter with a black/blue flake pit boss trailer, and splash of JJs. Cranking it on a steady crank with a little tug between cranks, and ripping thru some millfoil(?) I get a strike set the hook, and feel something on the end then nothing, continue cranking thru the weeds I see a follower, and to my guess a nice 2 lbr. I stop cranking, and the bass picks it up starts taking off, I give it a second, set the hook, and BAM the lure flies thru the air almost hitting me. I think this place is cursed for me, but I keep coming back.
  6. 2 for my son, 0 for me. He caught another one yesterday.
  7. It's just ridiculous the size of the maws on these fish. Makes a nice 24oz beer can coozy ;-)
  8. I think my crank baits still think it's winter. I haven't caught anything worth mentioning.
  9. Ooh boy, you done it now. Welcome to the world of lake crack, and the forum.
  10. Tell them to find another lake.
  11. What hell did the Musky do, right. I wouldn't mind getting one as long as my line or rod holds
  12. Nice fatties, what did you use for bait?
  13. Sometimes your also get water dripping off your line.
  14. You will be doing this with swim jigs also?
  15. What is all this talk about beaver, tail, money shot, etc. HAVE YOU NO COOTH!! Rant over pervs.;-)
  16. Nice, and these kits are gonna be permanent products?
  17. ww2, you make me wuagh.
  18. There's one lake I go to and I've caught fish on every kind of bait so then I'll bring allot more stuff to that body of water. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you going to new bodies of water and trying to figure out what they want.
  19. This, and that's what I'm trying to figure out now.
  20. It can get heavy, I'm trying to downsize to 3600 and 3500 boxes, and figuring what I don't need with me. Try to just keep it to most commonly used baits and terminal. As a shore fisherman do you really need deep diving cranks. I just keep to square bills and shallow divers like Mann's minus 1s, and maybe anything that doesn't dive more than 5 or 6ft. I also went on here and asked what the most commonly sized hook was used, and the majority of the fellas said 3/0 hooks in all types. Hope this helps.
  21. That's pretty much similar to the Spiderwire bag. I didn't like the red, it's kinda bright when your trying to blend into the background so the fish can't see you. That's why I opted for the Spiderwire bag because it comes in black plus I had an 10$ coupon so that made the price the same as the BPS bag.
  22. Just picked up the Spiderwire tackle backpack last night from DSG. So far its a decent looking bag. It comes with 3 3500 size utility boxes with adjustable slots. I can fit 2 3600 slim boxes, 1 3500 spinner bait box, and the three boxes that came with the bag in the bottom section which gives me plenty of room for plastics, leader line and other supplies in the top section and the side pockets. Plus there are two rod holders one on each side which I will not be using for rods because mine are all one piece, and I do allot of fishing in wooded areas so they are better suited for two piece rods. I'll keep updating to let you know how it works out.
  23. Does this stuff stink?
