  1. I have the 11.5, and it's great. The seat is awesome. It's not the fastest kayak from what I've heard, I can't really compare it to a fast kayak because I never sat in one and paddled it. To me it paddles great. I think it also depends on what type of paddle u you use, and what it's designed for. I have the Adventure Technology Angler Search which supposedly is designed for this type of kayak. The stability is awesome, stood up plenty of times yesterday. It is even stable enough to stand in the chop. The wheel in the keel works great had no problem dragging it thru the grass and gravel, but works the best on the pavement, and this was fully loaded. It is a tad heavy, and it's a little work for me to get it on the roof of my Explorer because of the keel wheel it tends to want to slide back when you lean the bow up against the rear of the truck. I think I have a fix for that. You shouldn't have a problem loading it in truck bed though with a bed extender. The 13.5 will be much heavier, but with a trailer that should make it easier. If you have any questions let me know.
  2. I bought a bag of purple, pumpkin red Craw Fatties, and a bag of Pit Bosses in the same color at Dick's. Never had much luck with the Craw Fatties, but Pit Bosses are great jig trailers.
  3. That's what I was thinking, but it wasn't happening. I did have other blow ups, but no commits. At least this guy put on a show, gave me a nice blow up.
  4. Finally got the yak slimed... Was a cruddy overcast day, but managed one. Wasn't a giant, but the first in the yak. Caught him under some low lying branches on a hollow body frog.
  5. Those are some Fatty McFattersons... I'm jelly.
  6. The are some Fatty McFattersons... I'm jelly.
  7. Maybe some people haven't seen it yet...
  8. My wife got me a present over the weekend, now I can stay dry and continue fishing from the Yak on a rainy day, and the jacket is even nice enough to wear out in public...as long as there isn't any fish slime sticking to it.
  9. Built this yesterday. It isn't done yet, still need to add that 2x4 to the top four extra support, but it works, and gave me extra room to move around in my garage.
  10. I got the Yak-Gear Deluxe Anchor Trolley, comes with everything, you do have to drill though, and water proof silicone is your friend. It comes with well nuts, rivets, self tapping screws, and nuts and bolts, it all depends if you get inside access for which hardware to use. It's very easy to install if you are handy with tools. Just follow the directions, and you shouldn't have any problems.
  11. I've never done it. I don't understand why anybody would do this, your only lying to yourself, but that's just my opinion.
  12. And to add, I have an alarm system in my house which is wireless, and works of cell service, and all the sensors are wireless also. It works with the Alarm.com app, I can arm it and disarm it from my phone, and I have it set up so I get text messages from the system whenever a sensor goes off. If the alarm goes off, and you don't have a pin code a live person from the monitoring station speaks thru the control panel and asks you for the password, and if you don't provide it they will notify the police. It's a nifty system.
  13. That sucks, but at least your insurance is doing something about it. That's why I have security bars on my garage windows. The garage door is nailed shut, and there's a bunch of shmit in front of it on the inside. I have my rolling tool chest locked, and chained to a 4x4 support beam, my riding mower, and snow blower are chained together, and my storage cabinet is always locked. My wife always asks me "why are you so paranoid, nobody is gonna steal anything around here." Then I tell her I'm from Miami remember. I don't trust anybody. Also After reading this I will definitely take pics of my fishing gear for insurance reasons.
  14. Maybe a bad starter solenoid, or maybe the starter is on the way out.
  15. It's also smart to leave your hatches open, in case it does get hot, you won't have any pressure build up from expansion.
  16. I have to build one of those also. Even though I have the wheel in the keel it doesn't wheel in the keel over everything.
  17. What I've read, you can store it on it's side as long as it's resting on the gunwale which is the strongest part of the SOT.
  18. We have info on what kayak is best for whomever, and how to transport a kayak. Why not also have a thread on what is the best way to store a kayak. There are multiple ways to store them I.E. on end, on the side, upside down, right side up, on saw horses, in slings etc. Seems like each manufacturer has there own info on this. For me, I'm gonna build a rig on wheels that will have my kayak resting on its side due to space constraints in my garage, and the ease of maneuverability. So how do you store yours?
  19. You can get the foam pads, and they already have the notches cut out to fit aero bars or square bars. They are also shaped to fit the contour of the hull.
  20. I think he makes an adapter to fit whatever specific kayak
  21. That's what I was thinking, but he says the weight of the Pole should be enough to drive it into the bottom.
