  1. It has more to do with what technique your using.
  2. I keep all the tools in my Chinook pfd. Once I get to my spot, I'll raise the seat to its highest position, and have no issues reaching into the crate behind me.
  3. Actually the scupper leaks would be on the Ascend FS12T the FS128T is prone to the hatch leaks.
  4. Went out with the yaks to a new to us reservoir. Started at 8am ended at 4pm. They had it drawn down so they could do work on the dam and put in a new boat ramp. So all the shore line cover we thought we would have, by researchiing this lake, well was pretty much not there, but about 10 yards back high and dry. So with that and the heat it was tough fishing. My buddy who usually always catches something, he got skunked . Me on the other hand, I ripped my new fishing shirt, I almost lost a Croc in the mud, a bird crapped on me, and I lost a fish... but I ended up with this guy Yeah, I didn't get skunked, and he isn't big. The way I caught him will blow your mind. It's the first time it's happened to me. So we paddle back to the ramp, and I tell my bud before we unload we should go hit those reeds shown in the pic, and this about a hundred yards from the ramp. I start casting my jig across the reeds to the outer edges, feel the tap, tap, set the hook, and my line snaps somewhere in the middle. I must of had a knot or a loop in the line somewhere in my spool, and it must of weakend the line over time. The fish jumps three times with about fifty feet of line behind it trying to throw the jig. So the line starts to get tangled up in the reeds, and I'm paddling at supersonic speed to try and grab the line before it unravels and goes under. I get a hold of it, and start pulling up on the line pulling up reeds and weeds figuring that I lost the fish, but I feel pressure and the dude was right under my yak, lipped him in, and that was that. That's what I call some fancy fishing skills right there... my buddy was ticked. I think it was the bird crapping on me that helped out.

  5. Nice! Where are you catching these Hawgs? PM me, I need to get into some of those, unless it's your secret honey hole of coarse.
  6. Just take a 1/2oz Black/Blue jig with a Rage Chunk trailer, on 17 lb Flouro and yous will catch something...
  7. Right on! I'll be subscribing because loading and unloading my yak from the roof rack of my Explorer is getting a little taxing.
  8. I make Joke This one, almost 3 1/4 lb, and it's my PB so far.
  9. You have to remember it's a wide boat so it's not fast, but I think the 13.5 would be quicker because of the length. The 11.5 does track pretty good for the type of hull design which is the same on the 13.5, and the rudder would definitely make it better. These boats aren't really made to cut the water as efficient as the Moken, or a boat that's narrower. If your not worried about speed its a good yak. The stand up bar is made to hold on to for balance, or even lean against. I just hope it comes with something to place my rod or lean my paddle against our on so I don't have to keep on bending down to lay it down our pick it up when I'm standing and paddling.
  10. It's not that, it's the lakes, reservoirs, and rivers up here in New Jersey aren't the cleanest lot. If you get a chance look up the history of The Passaic river, or Pompton Lake, and you'll see what I mean.
  11. well, I got home and this was waiting for me... ...and I will pair this with a fishing rod...
  12. If you want stability at 36" wide the FeelFree Lure is the way to go, plus the comfy seat. I just read the new Lure 11.5 that is coming out in the late summer is gonna have the removable sonar and electronics pod the same as the Lure 13.5 and similar to what the Wildy Ride 115X has. I have no problem setting the hook and playing a fish while standing, but they are also coming out with a stand up bar for the 11.5 model which is something that has peaked my interest. All the brand's so far mentioned are good yaks. It's all about what your budget is, and your style of fishing. One thing everybody is gonna urge you to do is try to go out for a demo paddle.
  13. Probaply somebody's weave fell out...
  14. The Adventure Technologies Angler Search is a pretty good paddle in that price range. It's has a carbon shaft so it's light. You should check them all out and see which you like best.
  15. Well I guess I'm gonna have to order me some June bug colored jigs...
  16. Are you attempting to outdo Neil Peart...
  17. Siebert's arky jig, with a rage chunk.
  18. Crocs on the Kayak, and Merril, Vasque, or muck boots on the bank.
  19. Wow, right thru the back.
  20. That's a piggn'... You using a surf casting rod now to catch the pigs... that's a whole lot of handle on that rod.
  21. ^ This. Favorite: Jigs, yeah definitely Jigs. I don't think I have a least favorite. I've caught fish on pretty much all the baits I own. I never really tried a Carolina rig though
  22. Was some tough jig fishing this past Sunday only managed three fish, maybe it was the heat. It started off normal, just skipping jigs under willows and logs. Normal Not so Normal, some how snagged him on the outside of its mouth... Looks normal... felt the tap, set the hook, and he came in sideways... snagged him thru the belly. Crushed the barb on the new jig to remove it. swam off fine, but I don't think he'll survive.
  23. But now at least I know what they like to eat...
