  2. Heard next year they are coming out with a new model... Can't wait to see it.
  3. You can also try a RAM Mounts Tuff Claw with a Dog bone. http://www.rammount.com/products/tough-claw I used it on a Tin and attached it to the Gunnel. Worked great.
  4. I'm definitely getting some of these
  5. I have a couple, but for some reason the prop will not turn. (Not trying to Hijack th OPs thread but this could add to the thread) Is there a way to fix this, and how do you fish them?
  6. I either use the VMC 1/0 Octo hook, VMC weighted Whacky hooks, or the VMC weedless Whacky hook. On the weedless Hook I cut the bend of the wire that goes under the barb off. Makes a wire V weed guard, and it still doesn't get hung much... but nothing has bit it either.
  7. I've been using a VMC Half Moon Jigs.
  8. I've been using a 2500 Shimano haven't been spooled yet. Caught a 4lb LM on it without getting spooled, and my drag wasn't to tight. Maybe a 4lb Smally would, but probaply not.
  9. It's turned. Nice buy
  10. I had the same problem, but it was my hook set technique with the bait caster. I would use my wrist the majority of the time to set the hook. Fixed that problem by using my arm and body. No more pain.
  11. Me! or Gene, or Catt, or Glenn, or Siebert, or Francho, or slonezp, or everybody... Cause I can learn something from all of them.
  12. You can also check out Siebert, he has some good prices on tungsten.
  13. My guess also.
  14. It's been great watching him develop his technique while we were there. He knows how to hop a jig like a pro now.
  15. Me and the fam took a 7 day vacation to the lake. Rented a rustic 1930s cabin on the lake... We had to take showers outside..., but me and my son had the best outing of the year. I Never caught smallmouth before, and neither did my son. That all changed to a point where I was getting kind of bored of catching them... Sorta not really. Must of caught close to thirty including the ones I lost at the boat, and I didn't even fish everyday. Only caught 3 Laaaargies, but they were nice once. My son caught his first Small mouth, and his PB Lmb at 3lbs 10oz. His Zebco rod and reel handled it pretty well. All he was using was a Zman Shroomz jig with a Rage Tail Menace grub. They same with me, 90% of the fish I caught were on a VMC half moon shakey head with a Rage Tail Menace grub including 2 of the three Lmb. I think @Big-Oshould open a Rage Tail Menace store at this lake cause they were getting eaten up. Here are some pics. My son's PB Lmb on the boat. His first Small jaw at night off the dock. My biggest Lmb of the trip at 4lbs. Caught her right before my son caught his in the same spot. The other 2 Lmb I caught, oddly they both weighed in at 2lbs 9oz, and they are 2 different fish... They look bigger. I notice the Lmb seem to be longer up there than they are here in Jersey. Here are a few of the small jaws I caught. My first ever Small jaw caught on a baby bass Spook Jr off the dock at the Cabin: The rest were all pretty much caught with the aforementioned shakey head and Menace grub off the boat. My Second: And the rest: There were allot more pics, but these were the larger Small mouth. All in all the best fishing off the year for me and my boy.
  16. There's exactly where we stayed. I killed it with my spinning set up. Even fishing off the dock at night was producing. Best lake I've fished ever. That part of the lake is very rocky so there were small jaws everywhere, and occasional large mouth where it transitioned to Sandy our weedy spots. I brought up like 7 rods, but used my spinning set up 90% of the time. Was using a VMC half moon shakey head with a Rage Tail Menace Grub. Seems like that was the only thing working.
  17. I'll be staying there for a week in a cabin, and will be using a tin with a trolling motor. It will be on the Northeast corner of the lake. What are some good spots for the bass, and techniques up there?
  18. I was talking about the Lure 11.5, but yeah getting rid of the ATAK to get the Ascend definetly questionable.
  19. It's a barge, but I fish standing up so stability was important, and this was a no brainer for me. At 600 bucks I would buy it again. Ill eventually will add a trolling motor to mine anyway so I'm not worried about its so called "bad tracking".
  20. Usually the the gunwales are the strongest part, at least on a SOT. I have A 11.5 Lure which sits on its side on a rack majority of the time in my garage, and it does dent the sides somewhat, but nothing a little sun can't fix. I will be redoing the rack this winter so the yak will rest on its gunwals instead of the sides.
  21. I got the Lew's version of these, and your right they cut braid with ease. A great pair off pliers.

    Hmm.

If I see somebody trolling by with there face in their phone hunting down a Pokey, I'll chuck a 1oz punch weight at their phone... Unless they are using the DEEPER or WIFISH...

    Hmm.

My 5 year old son doesn't need Pokemon Go to get exercise... He's a real man, and goes bass fishing to get exercise
