  1. Have my new to me boat since February. I have been on It a plenty to catch...well you know bass. I've caught perch and pickeral, but my wife caught a largemouth, even my 6 year old son caught his pb smallmouth, and all this on the same lake... Wasn't a good look for me until this past Friday. Found this nice back water creek (actually I always knew it was there, but I never went back into it) off the main lake that had Bass Empire written all over it. Looked like heaven for frogging and punching. The average depth was 2 feet. With pads, weeds, and laydown galore. Water was clearer than in the main lake so visibility was great. We could see perch, suckers, small bass, and bait fish swimming around. We even had the honor of cruising with a giant Tiger Musky, yeah they live there too. So started fishing this majestical creek. The frog didn't work and jig didn't work so I changed it up to my punch rig which consisted of pegged 1/8 oz VMC tungsten bullet weight, 3/0 VMC round bend off set worm hook, and a Texas rigged ZOOM Trick Worm in my my new favorite color Green Pumpkin Blue Flash. Started pitching it to points and breaks in the hydrilla and pads along the bank, and even punching it thru the lightly matted areas. The 1/8 oz weight was prefect for this task in the shallow weed beds. The trick worm slid in and out (so to speak) without getting caught up. Finally the magical waters bestowed upon me this creature: Nice 3 lbs. The End

  2. I'll give it try, Thanks
  3. This reservoir is tough to fish cause it's so pressured especially by the bucket brigade even though it says specifically it's a C and R reservoir. There's also a lot of foot traffic going thru the trails along the waters edge, and I think that also makes the bass wary. I have most my luck with Jigs, and better luck on a Yak. I've caught one off the dam with a crank bait, and one with a Pad Crasher in a cove in my yak, but the majority on jigs. Theres some pigs in there, I've seen them during the spawn. . A friend of mine caught a 5lbr in the lagoon below the dam. I've been going there for a couple of years now so I kind of know where they like to hang out so I pitch my jig from a distance back so I don't spook the bass by walking up to the water and then casting.
  4. Thats what I'm working on now. Fortunatly all those pics I have on PB I have also on my phone. So I'm just gonna connect my phone to my laptop and copy the pics over. Then I'll save them on a thumb drive or a cloud based server like Google maybe. It's fixed
  5. I just remove them from the clam shell and stuff them in the bag or plano box as straight as possible. They do kind of scrunch up in the plano box in my tackle back pack, but it hasn't affected the way they look. In my boat I leave them in there bag in a large ziploc or plano storage device.
  6. I have no choice, my boat doesn't fit in the garage. I bought mine from Covers Direct. I bought the SunDura cover with integrated motor cover and matching Talon cover. It's also trailerable. 7 year warranty isn't to shabby either.
  7. Guy I know that commutes on the same train as I do, and is an avid angler himself found 2 of these Garcia Mitchell 301 reels on wooden rods, and 2 vintage bamboo fly rods in their metal canisters. He was actually cool enough to give me one as he knows I'm into fishing myself. The reel is from the 50s made in France from what I've researched, and what's stamped on the cover. The wooden rod, I don't know because there aren't any markings on it. Could be from the 40s maybe.
  8. Here N.E. NJ we have 2 different colors at the same time but in 2 different lakes. One lake has darkbr/gp with orange tipped legs and tail, and the other lake has pretty much a Rage Tail Falcon Craw color. When the water depth visibility is decreased a Bk/Bl jig with a GP Rage chunk will do.
  9. I have one of these on my boat. I keep baits I use frequently in this box. I'm gonna order more for my other plastics. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Plano_3700_Worm_Stowaway/descpage-PWS7.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwt8rMBRBOEiwA2F2biJ6NyAbzJKPO951nMk7BogdYQnhbZ_3mpSTBSPrezbJG_aMearJHThoCH_AQAvD_BwE
  10. Never had either problem so far, but good info for the future.
  11. Your are probaply correct. I did see a Basscat wrap also.
  12. Question, Is Phoenix next? Ive been watching some earlier episodes of MLF and notice some of the Nitros have Phoenix wraps on them. Any Idea? Or is just to let everyone know that the Pro who is using the Nitro is still sponsored by Phoenix.
  13. A lot of companies own multiple brands, it's not something new. They have cheaper brands and expensive brands and still make quality products. The brands that don't sell they get rid of. A lot of these boat brands can still be quality built if they keep the same QC on these present brand names. Who knows maybe JM and Co. see how glass bass boat prices are ridiculous and want to do something about it. Just my 2 cents.
  14. I think Stratos is already done. Info on some other boards are saying they aren't taking any orders for 2018. What I've been hearing is he needed a production plant and Legend fit the bill.
  15. Dameriscotta lake/river system loaded with smallmouth.
  16. His pb small mouth
  17. ...to take the day off, because you're the only one available to be with your kid for the day. Figured if I'm the only who can watch him, I'll just watch him do this... ...on the boat. Bought some live shiners for him to make it more lively on a pressured lake, plus he watched on you tube how shiners can catch big fish. So here you go, his personal best Small jaw. Took him 5 tries, his whippy combo could not set the circle hook on this fish. Like a responsible father I gave him my 6'6" MF spinning rig, and BAM perfect hook set. Of course I didn't catch nothing, so those shiners were mighty tempting.
  18. Always do. Had a crank bait come back at me one time that hit me right at my right eye, luckily I was wearing my glasses. Wrap arounds are the best to wear.
  19. Geez, why do I look like the Huncback of Notre Dame.
  20. We had my son's friend come over for the day this past Saturday cause his parents had to work. So I did what every responsible adult would do... we took him fishing. The kid never really been so this was great. Went to a couple of ponds I haven't been to since last year. All I caught was this. They caught these... Those aren't gonna be bait, just for observation... Lol, looks like the Bluegill smacked him in the face. My son's buddy had a great time. Nice to take the kids away from all the tech.
  21. I just put together a bank fishing kit so I don't have to keep on getting in my boat to get bait and tackle. I got a Spiderwire backpack with 1 Flambau 3700 series box with 1/2 oz Strike King Danny Baur structure jigs 4 in Blue craw, 4 in Bk/Bl , VMC 3/0 and 5/0 round bend worm hooks, and wide gap worm hooks, VMC 4/0 flippn hooks, VMC weedless and regular wacky hooks, VMC 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz shakey heads, VMC 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 oz tungsten bullet weights, some red fasceted glass beads, 2 Mann's Shallow divers, and 2 2.5 Strike King Square bills, 3 Strike King Red Eye Shads. Then have one of those small double sided Plano boxes with 2 Kermit hollow bodied frogs, 2 GY poppers, and my weedles Z-Man Mushroomz jigs. Finally a plano 3500 series spinnerbait box with 3 spinner baits and 3 swim jigs. All my plastics are in a Ziploc bag. Don't forget your flouro leader, wacky tool, shears/pliers, and most importantly a scale, these I carry in different pouches in the bag or on my belt. I actually think my Ziploc bag of plastics weigh more than all my tackle put together.
  22. if it has structure or cover, I'm throwing a Jig n' Craw.
  23. Google Maps, or Earth is your friend. Found tons of new places and about 3/4 tons are private ponds/lakes.
  24. Would like to fish till I cant see the water anymore, but usually 8hrs or more if my day allows it.
  25. Been Skunked many times, I even get skunked on my boat. The lakes and ponds where I fish are pressured, so Ill be lucky if I catch one. I rarely have days where I catch 2. The only time i get multiple catches is i f i go to a low pressured body of water, or an extremely large body of water thats larger than what I have locally, and that means going out of state.
