  1. My first trip and first fish of the year, and first fish caught on my homemade jig (if you call designing your own skirts and puting them on prepainted bought jigs homemade). Caught these guys off beds. Just pitching to bed looking spots a few feet back from the shoreline... Kind of fishing blind, but reading the shoreline. Not bad for a 1 and a half hours of fishing.
  2. New motors or even older motors don't need it if your going thru tanks of fuel year round, but up north you want it when you store the boat for the winter.
  3. I have a trim switch on the bow as well, but I never use it. I trim up at the helm when I get to the spot. Could be good to use if there is alot of current. Kind of use it as a brake to Slo yur Flo.
  4. Yep, 4/0 is good
  5. They are also intended for "Super Line" as in braid.
  6. But got it done. It was a nice Friday went and redid my bunks new wood, carpet and lag bolts. Figured just lift the boat high enough to slide out old bunks and slide in the new ones ....NOT! These must of been the original 2007 bunks. They were worn out even the lag bolts were pretty much rusted to nubs. Decided to pull the whole trailer out and wire wheeled all the rusted bunk brackets and hit them up with some Rustoleum. Had to raise and lower the bow like twelve times pulling the trailer out and get it back under (the bow winch actually did alot of the work get it back under) I was sore after it was all said and done. Getting it on the stands (or Mustang wheels) used the foam blocks from my kayak roof rack to keep the boat stable on said wheels. Used truck jack stands and pieces of 2x4 to support the rear at the chines. All done and ready to shove it back.
  7. What did you use to make your "Cool Foot"?
  8. FeelFree Lure 11.5. Pros: Comfy height adjustable seat, The most stable platform for standing and sight fishing, tracks ok for what it is, wheel in the keel, It can carry a large load. Cons: It's a barge to paddle into the wind unless you get the peddle drive, not to large SUV roof topper friendly due to weight, but fine for smaller suvs and cars and pick up trucks
  9. Don't drink the yellow water.... You can use any color as long as it's black...
  10. Was I the only one that read that quote in my 1920s radio voice...
  11. I'm on the Pad Crasher band wagon, but i'm telling you the BPS Kermy is a close second, It's body is soft and walks great just bend the hooks out a little so they don't poke holes in the body. Actually caught my PB on it (pre bent hooks).
  12. Once FIOS dropped WFN and the Outdoor Channel I switched to Optimum, and I pay less.
  13. Nice, moving along. Are you gonna seal the transom wood with some polyurethane? What brand TM is that?
  14. Yup, but in my case here in NJ somebody at the station has to do it. It's also handy when your tow vehicle and boat have the filler on the same side.
  15. I use the Rage Bug, Menace, and Pitboss. have all of them in BK/BL, Blue Craw, and Green Pumpkin
  16. Rusted hook tip in the roof of it's mouth, and a leader with the swivel attached coming out of it's arse... Removed the hook tip and cut the leader at the sphincter. Man bass are hardy.
  17. Looks like a white Crappie
  18. Have that for for my Stratos as well. They especially made for low gunnel boats. They work great.
  19. Unbelievable, wish they could have a Stratos 176XT thread like this. Dilly, Dilly
  20. Yeah, I'm here... In the arctic... Makes Jersey look tropical. Everything is frozen.
  21. So I'm in Plattsburgh, NY for business... My hotel is pretty much in a shopping plaza... With an 24hr Waly World...
  22. Yup, if i can get a discount or find it cheaper somewhere else I'm buying it.
  23. Durn it, was gonna be there this Sunday thru Tuesday. This was planned a few months ago, figured maybe the lake would be unfrozen by now. Oh well thanks for the input.
