  1. Shoot, I'm from Miami and I lock everything up. My wife asks me why I do it, and I tell her I lived in Miami.
  2. I don't know, I'm still trying to figure it out.
  3. I'm actually looking for another combo for some frogging and punching from the bank. Think a Royale Legend XH fast with the Stealth reel. Been using KK gear exclusively for bank fishing. This way I don't have to worry about mucking up my Lew's reels. Haven't had issues using their gear. They work great and cheap. If the reel blows up I'll just by a new one. I'm even thinking about pairing all my Lew's reels with Kasking rods for the boat.
  4. My go to rig when I first get to the water. I throw 1/2 oz but I think I'm gonna switch to 3/8 oz just to lighten my bank fishing gear. Arky of my own creation or a Danny Brauer structure Jig.
  5. Yeah no, a little rich for my blood. Nice rig nonetheless.
  6. @J Francho, lol those Googans really riled you up didn't they...
  7. Pfft, I let the Bait Monkey beat me...
  8. I use The Works (green bottle) dilute 50/50 with water. Takes that nasty pond scum and water spots right off. Then I hit it up with Meguires waterless wash and wax, and Meguires Quick detailers to keep it looking clean.
  9. Yep, I see them at every body of water I go to. Even when it's a catch and release only lake, they still take them. Oh and God forbid you forget YOUR license, and your the one they check.
  10. looks alot better than the Lowerance unit.
  11. YEAH! The first and only time I didn't have it, an $70 ticket. This also turned into a $h17 storm. Long story short, Had my DL suspended, drove for a year without any notification. Found out when my wife got pulled over, the LEO asked who I was and told her my license was suspended. Went to rectify the issue with the county, and got my DL suspended for 10 days which could of been 6 months, now paying $270 a year for the next 3 years of which 1 year has already been paid for. So going into the second year. That's an expensive $70 ticket. What you get when your SO "THOUGHT" she paid the 'not having your fishing license" ticket...
  12. Yea that Maxxum IS heavy, used take of the boat and carry it to the garage... that was short lived. Now I just put it on the floor with the head at the steering wheel. I have a chain running thru one of the wheels and over the leaf spring, and 2 trailer coupler locks.
  13. I remove all electronics from my boat, I have a quick release for my Maxxum trolling motor and run a chain and lock thru it and the steering wheel. Lock all my hatches. I took pictures of all my equipment I have on the boat so in case stuff does get stolen I have proof and my homeowners insurance should cover it... I hope lol
  14. 1st time out on the boat this year. Caught me a couple of Lmbs on one of Sieberts 3/8 double willow spinner baits in Bluegill And no, I didn't hook the gills. That came from the soft cheek tissue. And yeah, the wife thinks she's funny... Wasn't laughing after I pushed her off the boat... I keed, just joke yes...
  15. Does Not have to be saltwater, I have a 2007 Stratos 176Xt that never seen saltwater and the trailer from below the bow of the of the boat to the coupler was rusted from the inside out. I poked holes all thru it. I bit the bullet and bought a new Tidewater galvanized trailer to replace it. I just didn't trust iy anymore especially if I want to do some long distance traveling. Just because it's painted steel on the outside the inside is what rusts from water getting in the frame. I would start worrying once you can start poking holes thru the frame with a screw driver.
  16. Trying to lighten up myself. Went from a Spiderwire backpack to a Spiderwire sling pack. Got rid of stuff I don't really use, and carry 2 rods a casting and a spinning. the Sling pack is still a little heavy so I might have to lighten her up some more.
  17. Same here, just started using the Neko rig and decided to use the weedless VMC Neko hook for Wacky rigging, and they work great. No need to buy wacky hooks anymore unless I need them weighted. I just use a sideways sweep to hook em.
  18. Don't have luck with them as well. Maybe I'll throw them out of desperation...
  19. I'm always scanning the water when I'm motoring about in a lake, and when I see kayakers I slow down. But this is in the daytime definitely would be alot harder in the dimming light.
  20. My first cast (pitch/flip actually) is always a few feet back from the waters edge. Caught a few fish that way on heavy pressured lakes. If I get no takers after that first pitch/ flip I'll walk right up to the edge and start fan casting.
  21. With your tow vehicle, go with a tin
  22. Got like 6 of them, I'll throw on which ever tickles my fancy... I ordered the sleeves, but just for bank fishing cause I'm not always in the sun. I wear short sleeve Columbia Tamiami IIs when I'm on the bank. If i'm gonna be on the sunny side of the bank I'll slide on the sleeves then when I don't need them I can pull them off (which I think is easier than rolling up the sleeves and having to button that strap to keep them up). On the boat I wear the long sleeve Tamiamis.
  23. Got it on Saturday, It's a Tidewater 17-2200. It's made by Sealion. Good price for what you get, I think. Just had to do some minor tweaking. So far so good. These bolted trailers sure are squicky though.

  24. It's on fire in the AM. Went there on Memorial Day with bluebird skies at 8:30am and by 10:30am I had 4 in the bag. They're loving a wacky rigged GP Copper Purple Flake Senko (probably anything natural colored will work cause the water is clear right now). Caught a Total of 6 and lost 2 so a very good day. There's some males guarding beds and fry so site fishing isn't difficult. Lilly pads are starting to come in, and the hydrilla is sparse, but plenty of places for the largies to hang.

  25. I had a memorable Memorial Day, me and the boy went to a newer lake. The second time for me and the first for him. A good 10 minute hike up to the lake, then we walked and fished the whole 4 mile circumfrence. I got to spend time with my boy, and caught the most bass than I ever did bank fishing. Caught six largies (could of been eight but lost 2), and my son caught one snot rocket. Four bucketmouths couldn't resist a wacky rigged green pumpkin copper purple flake Senko, then caught one on a homemade jig with a Blue Craw Rage Chunk and another on Texas rigged Blue Craw Rage Craw. These guys were all gentle biters, each one felt like a bluegill pecking at the bait. This is the the first and biggest. A nice 3 lbr, the rest were between 2 and 1 1/2 lbs: And this is my son's snot rocket:
