  1. @road warriorThanks for all you have done. Cheers.
  2. I was gonna go with midnight oil (black) to match my truck, but would of gotten really hot, and I didnt want white, red or blue so I went with metallic gray... Best of both worlds, will not get mega hot and it still looks good attached to my black truck. The flat Zuke Stealth with the black gloss lettering looks pretty rad on that boat too.
  3. And got this stuff with the TW gift cards and coupon Vexus sent me: Same with this:
  4. I haven't let it rip yet, but it is way quieter than what my Merc 50 2 stroke was. I also like the fact its a reliable motor. And it looks awesome. Tbh, I probably would of gone with a Yami or Merc if Suzuki didn't come out with this bass boat specific model line, but since they did, and from reading and watching reviews I made up my mind to go with the Suzuki. Also speed wasn't really a factor either even though they're known to be a little slower than the other 2 brands. I'm coming from a 50 hp motor so I know I will be going way faster plus I dont really have anything else to compare it to in that 150hp range so its good enough for me.
  5. I have Costas with non glass green mirror bronze lenses, and they do a great job.
  6. Upgraded from my 07 Stratos 176XT to this 25' Vexus AVX 1980 with a 25' Zuke Stealth, and Garmin electronics... Got a 12 Ultra 2 at the console, and will be adding 2 10 Ultras that have been sitting in their box for about a year on the bow attached to a BBT hood offset mount. Took it out yesterday for the first time after sitting in my garage for a month. What a massive upgrade in size and storage. The knew v2 front decks are massive, there is so much space at the very front of the deck. We had no problem moving around with three people. Sucks I couldnt do a full send on the motor because of the break in period. Over all we're happy with it.
  7. Biggest catch of the year so far caught on a Berkley Dredger... in Connecticut on Candlewood lake. Fishing line trick worked after I cut all the other hooks off. Less painful comming out then going in...
  8. Finally took the boat out on Sunday with the fam. Dialed in all the new electronics, and they worked cause I saw some blips in 20 fow (hoping for large mouths) but came up with this chonk on a Berkley Dredger. Rest of the day was just catching dinks, but a good day none the less.
  9. For crying out loud, the Upgrade Electronics Monkey got me again... I can't resist, these units are cheap right now. I mean its last years model, but who cares.
  10. Is gonna be a bit before I get the bigger boat... So I did the next best thing... Upgraded the electronics on the current rig. 80# Terrova Garmin 93sv UHD and 73sv UHD
  11. Purchased a couple of KK Perigee spinning rods and KK Sharky IIIs for when guests wanna come along to go fishing. The Update the Electronics Monkey got me real good.... 80lb Terrova, Garmin 93sv UHD, and 73sv UHD..
  12. Yeah, I probs have to go new. Which is fine I'll get more for my present boat when I do sell it.
  13. Yeah, I may have to go with a Tracker 190TX if going new for the 25k budget and used I may look at a Ranger RT or Triton 19xp. Unless I can find a not to old and in good shape glass boat in that price range.
  14. When my wife said we need a bigger one... So gonna upgrade to an 19 footer sometime in the future. Her reasoning is so she can lay on the back deck and me and my son can fish together on the front deck.... I was like ?
  15. Caught alot of fish in Alabama on this bait, so decided to see if they work up here, purchased 5" and 6". Also purchased two Wide Spool Superduties one for punching and froging heavy cover, and one for cranking deep divers.
  16. For sure, guess it's hot in the south, but can't catch a lick on it up here in the north lol. Philip had some great stories about KVD being his co-angler in the 80's. Guy is a bank of knowledge for sure. Highly recommend him if anyone ever heads down or up that way.
  17. So,went to to visit the parents in Fort Payne Al, and about an 40 minute drive from there is Lake Guntersville... So ya know we had to go and do some fishing. We hired Philip Criss as our guide, and boy him or the lake didnt disapoint. We boated over 20 bass, with my son cathing a PB 6lbr and a 5lbr, I caught a few the wife caught a few Philip caught a few was a great time. We all used a "senko" stick bait in junebug, we never had to switch out baits... used the same one the whole time lol. We met up with our guide at Waterfront Bay Groceries and Tackle (cool joint and the owner is really nice). After we were done with our fishing trip we went back to Waterfront and met Jacob Wall (didnt know who he was) found out he is a MLF Rookie nice guy. I guess he was there to do a promo with Waterfront... To make it even cooler while they were recording the promo for their FB page the owner invited my son to be a part of it so that was interesting. So yeah, a very awesome day. Some pics:
  18. I see you travel out of state as well to get to a lake... Candlewood is a nice lake, but when the Lake roaches get on it is horrible. My go to new rig when funds allow... or a Bass Cat... You've got balls...
  19. Headed to PA to hit Lake Wallenpaupack for the first time ever on Sunday. Heard it was a tough place to fish. Bizarre lake pretty much flat bottom but stone all along the shore. Didn't see any cover I'm used to fishing so I threw a square bill the whole time along rip rap and rock wall out croppings, and broke my 4 year smallmouth skunk with this @A-Jay size football... Caught two more of these giants and lost a nice largemouth when it threw the square bill. The shore you see behind me is pretty much what the whole lake looks like. .
  20. Jig and Craw
  21. Chrome Black back walkers work for me as well. I use black topwaters during the day because I don't fish at night, and they work just as well as white or natural color.
  22. Huh, you actually caught a Large Mouth?
