  1. i want to see a bass b/c catching a 100 pound tarpon and lets see what is more prestigious or stronger lol
  2. lol i made a thread about this already. spinning gear is more versatile. the same set-up is use to catch 100 pound tarpon and 40 pound snook is also the same set-up that i use for bass. spinning also casts further, regardless what people tells you, this is proven by the top professionals in the world.
  3. yea, its still better than the other one, if he wants a good rod hes gonna have to spent a little more
  4. for 120 bucks you have alot to chose from. daiwa lexa=$100 bps extreme rods=$100 < my favorite in range bps carbon lite=$100 abu garcia veritas=$100 falcon bucoo=$90 shimano compre=$100 st croix triumph=$90 skeet reese=$90
  5. seaguar by a mile.
  6. two words... drop-shot, when fish dont bite or are very finicky use a finesse drop-shot technique and ill guarantee you will catch.
  7. I wear Columbia and i like it. alot of saltwater pros wear Columbia.
  8. I see that you want a extremely inexpensive rod, check this rod out is the same price but i think its better because this one has graphite. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Power-Plus-Graphite-Spinning-Rods/product/98364/
  9. the best rods i ever used and will continue using is G.LOOMIS.
  10. kevin hawk uses them as well
  11. iv tested them and most of my friends use baitcasters exclusively. all my friends has the tatula and they said is unmatched for the price.
  12. ahhh frogs... one of my favorite techniques. A G Loomis frog rod will work perfectly great. i like g loomis rods myself. For reels - ill say pro qualifier or daiwa exceler =both reels are 100 bucks and are top quality.
  13. I feel better now lol. i hope thats not true because it would make a lot of people upset including me. im a person that if i find out a company is not keeping their word, i would never bother with them again.
  14. really? i never knew that. im going to check that out because that's not cool. im gonna need to buy a saltwater baitcaster the 300 series then.
  15. here in the south or California and texas where bass get 15+, if you go flippin heavy cover with a reel that has 10 pound max drag, you in a whole lot of trouble. just sayin
  16. I prefer abu garcia over shimano any day
  17. quantums are one of my favorite brands and its becoming number 1 slowly, iv used quantum for saltwater for a long time and it never let me down, thats why i trust this brand. people aways gave me bad reviews about quantum, but believe it or not, most of the tackle that people dont like because their experience is mostly due to personal error. i hate shimano with a passion but most guys here loves them, at the end its all personal preference.
  18. i use the camo. i like it alot. it blends in well with the environment on the water. as far as self visibility goes, i dont mind, because remember this, if you can see it, the bass can see it even more and it will affect your catch ratios
  19. you should stay with braid, if the braid your using makes alot of noise, than get a quieter braid, but switching to mono with impact your hook ratios and casting distance.
  20. I think the t-wing system is neat. it looks cool. t-wing helps for accuracy and casting far. the best thing of all is that is very versatile because since the reel opens up while casting, light lures can be thrown further now without alot of backlashes.
  21. with new technology and advances to these reels are very good, the top pros of bass fishing use them for a reason. i just got my first baitcaster, and yes its a quantum centex, i like it so far but cant wait to use it more to really test the guts out of it, how ever. they make one of the best saltwater reels ever called cabo.
  22. abu garcias are on my top 5 best brands, they make better quality reel than other company's. they also have 22+ pounds of drag. it is rare to find freshwater baitcaster with that kind of power.
  23. well i just purchase new rods and combos. i use these rods for only freshwater, just like having a flippin stick setup on b/c. i use a 8 ft surf rod spinning reel since they dont make spinning setup for flippin, so i have to make my own. i basically use one piece surf rods for my heavy bass broomsticks. for my saltwater i use your typical 7 ft rod with a penn spinfisher reel and 20 pound braid.
  24. cant go wrong with another penn reels since you do most of your fishing inshore, you can also use it for bass, penn just came out with the conflict reel it suppose to be better than the battle.
