  1. 50% off on abus and discounts on Kistler rods? you do realize that those are quality gear. dude go for it.
  2. basspro shops rods are good rods and cheap compare to other manufactures
  3. cork - the old classic
  4. start with the basics. 7ft MH F action rod with a 2500 reel of your favorite brand. and then 20 pound braid. that should be a very versatile set-up
  5. is the water stained where you fish? if it is you can just stay with braid plus you will cast further than fluorocarbon.
  6. i have the IMX. it is a very light rod and top notch. i only use g loomis rods. as i have other brands as well but nothing tops g loomis. any g loomis rod would be good quality, my rod never failed me. i also have the GL2 and love it as well. warranty is lifetime, they are kinda pricey but worth every penny. this is coming from a guy whose owned dobyns and st croix rods. g loomis blows them away by a mile. some people might disagree. just go try one and you'll see
  7. beef up my gear, buy another broomstick and get my gopro ready. my YouTube account with get notice as i will post every video and picture. get sponsors and fish couple of tournaments, to bust up my name.
  8. yep. i have a cabo 40, with 30 pound braid of 300 yards, the reels also has 30 pounds of drag. I use this reel for big LMB, snook, tarpon and reds. the crazy part or it all is that the combo is extremely light, i have it with a g loomis rod. people might say this is over kill but in fact its actually perfect. im confident getting a 10+ bass out of heavy cover as well as a 50+ tarpon with the 30 pounds of drag. IMO its versatile for everything i fish for in my location.
  9. set your pin VBS system up and palomar knot. one other tip, if theirs trees and bushes around you can do the underhand cast instead of the overhead cast. good luck
  10. Trokar
  11. lol, it ok....
  12. did you felt hurt because i said that.?? everything will be ok buddy i promise. besides im just stating my opinion and trying to help. but i understand scooby doo van boy.
  13. im guessing you took a trip down here because your tag says you live in PA. what alot of people dont understand is that a heavy rod is not overkill. i notice that people upnorth that catches 8 or maybe 10 pound or not even, think that a heavy rod is over kill and i understand why. its all about location. people in california, texas and florida fish with heavy rods because it just wont happened catching a bass that is over 10 to 15 pounds. bass fishermen in california where 20 pounders are common, use heavy rods and alot of swimbait rods witch are heavy as well, but for northern fishermen it might be overkill. location is the confusion here.
  14. the thread is about the difference on sizes, 1000- 2500 is good for bass, but iv seen people use a 2500 for snook and got completely spooled lol.
  15. a smaller reel like a 2000 to 3000 will not have enough drag as a 4000 to 5000 reel. the drag is also important. if you fish with a 2500 size reel and you have alot of line but no drag then you will get spooled.
  16. not really, it would be very good for flip & pitch punch. if not then good luck getting a 10+ bass out of heavy cover with a mh rod
  17. my advise is, being that you live in Miami, get the heaviest, extra fast and longest broomstick you can find on the market.
  18. yea the tatula is in another level for 50 buck more, daiwa is making very cool stuff, thats why is my second favorite brand after quantum
  19. Is not Florida, is the location, specially in polk county, polk county is countryville and theirs not alot of tackle businesses over there, in Miami and ft Lauderdale as well as Tampa, you can get any lure and bait you want. its all about location, i can get those bait easy down here where i live.
  20. spinning 7'1 M and my brother has the 7'6 flippin stick baitcaster
  21. its just the reel size but all you need for freshwater is a 1000 to 4000 depending on application. 1000-2500 = pan fish, peacock bass, calico bass and bass 3000-4000 = big bass, salmon, muskies, pikes and inshore
  22. A rod and spinning 1000 size reel with 8 pound fluorocarbon line spooled and couple of 1/0 hooks and small worms with different colors, for different situations. price would be 40 to 50 bucks
  23. 6.8ft to 6.10ft rod and even 7ft medium, fast spinning reel 1000-2000 6 to 12 pound fluorocarbon line
