    Rapala 14' Diving Shad Rap
  4. Oh okay. Then we are on the same boat. I befriend a lot of people on the water, but you don't get intel unless its a mutual exchange of information.
  5. Haha, just messaged you. I'll have a beer waiting.
  6. Well clearly you aren't fond of fishermen like me then. I enjoy sharing pictures, stories, techniques, and lures. Granted this is with people who I plan on fishing with, not random strangers I pass on the water.
  7. I fish 90% frog now. That fish was caught in June. Lottery yes, because I was skunked that entire morning (while my buddy already had 5 on the boat). It was a cheap one. Lower than a bomber or rebel. When I say off brand, I mean off the grid. I looked up the company name and it was a number in Deleware. Number was disconnected.
  8. Honestly, if you can show me a picture of a bass and make me say "DAMNNNNNN!", I can care less about the weight, i'll buy you a beer.
  9. Ah I got a few shad raps. Had some luck but I don't invest much time in cranking. I do have a personal favorite color though, but it appears we are keeping those secret
  10. Nope, no frog that time. Like I said earlier, I have to go with the flow of my friends (who own the boat). He wanted to fish the pillars and thank god he did. I was using a shallow running minnow (3 treble, 3-4inches?) that my buddy bought at walmart in the junk bin for 99 cents. I like braid for cover, but if im fishing open, I'll do mono on top, flouro on bottom (usually between 10-14lb test on either). EDIT: I can't find that lure anywhere and its really upsetting. I cracked the only one I had about 2 months ago.
  11. I always ask for the pictures, and if their fists look massive, I know what they're trying to pull haha. As far as keeping lips tight about bait, I don't mind sharing at all, as long as the other person does. I definitely wouldn't be fishing a frog if people kept their mouth shut about it. Plus, isn't sharing advice the whole point of this forum?
  12. It was under the 408 on the pillars. Didn't measure length. Buddy had a berkley scale and it came in at 10.02lb. I'm 5'8 if that helps? EDIT: Also, I caught that on an abu silver max ($60) with 10lb MONO. Scariest moment of my life because those pillars will snap line easliy.
  13. My buddies and I have a habit of over exaggerating the ones we miss haha
  14. Please refer to profile picture. I definitely didn't push it towards the camera either.
  15. The more you fish, the better your chances are of finding that trophy. It'll come. We live in a state that holds them. As far as the yak...yeah man, I can't do it either. There are a few lakes nearby that are definitely landlocked from gators that I'll use it in, but it's still rolling dice. I've been bank fishing at night, and I'll get those random goosebumps thinking something is nearby. Florida keeps you on your toes.
  16. Yeah it would of helped for sure. Not stressing it though, my focus is always on finding the trophy. Those are the bragging rights I enjoy!
  17. The redlight is just enough to see your reel in front of you and the ground below you. The red allows you to keep your night vision, unlike white light which can take away your ability to focus in the dark for minutes. As far as scaring the bass off, I do everything in my power to avoid detection by bass. They'd definitely see the white light.
  18. Sooooo. Good and bad news. Good news first. Finger seemed fine with medical glue, and caught a 3lb bass in the dark. Bad news is...didn't have my tape measurer

  21. haha...funny you should say that. I have this medical glue which acts like superglue and skin. Burns like hell but creates the perfect shell. Worked like a charm.
  22. Hey all. Haven't posted since Saturday because my braid somehow sliced my casting thumb (didn't think fishing too much is possible). It's almost healed. Restrung the braid and might head out tonight to see what I can pull in. Looking at some of these posts, I best hurry. Also, this time change it the worst. Picked up a head lamp on amazon for $40 and it's amazing. red light is the key.
  23. I have a pole that is solely for frog fishing, and is always ready. I carry 4 rods total. Frog Rod - BPS pro qualifier reel (7:1:1), BPS Bionic 7' MH with 30lb braid. I use this one only for frogs. Crank Rod - Lews Speed Spool (7:1:1), BPS Bionic 6'6 MH with 12 Fluro. This one is for crankbaits, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits Top Water Rod - Abu Garcia Silver Max (6:4:1), BPS Bionic 6'6 Medium with 12 Mono. I use this for topwater baits, as well as softbaits (senkos, flukes, etc) Worm Rod - Shimano Sedona, Browning 7' M rod, 10lb fluro. This is used 100% worming. Those are all on standby and the baits vary depending on the body of water. I only use my frogs close to shore so if we aren't seeing bites, I'll transition onto a texas style senko. If it were up to me, I frog most of the time, but my fishing buddies find frogging frustrating so I go with their flow. During the spawn season I like to use shallow running rapalas or spinnerbaits, so I would imagine the frog rod might get a break for days like that. Keep in mind, just because I'm froggin' doesn't always garauntee bites. There are off days.
