Hey I ended up deciding to build myself a new rod rather than get the spool, so I didnt call them. Sorry I could not really be much help.

My favorite knot for any leader is the J knot. I can tie the alberto and it is very good and easy, but I find the J knot to be easier.

Hey guys so I have been making some threads lately about swimbaits. I picked up some keitech swing impact fats the other day. I also have some hooks for them. Now I am just not sure what rod of mine to throw it on. What kind of rod do you usually throw them on and what reel ratio do you like for it? Thanks!

Hey guys so I just recently got a HDS Touch gen 2. I am trying to download a social map of a local lake that I am going to be on this coming Saturday. Am I able to do that for free or can you only use social maps if you pay for Insight Genesis? I downloaded the map, and extracted it onto an SD card which I put in the unit, but the chart is not showing the map that I downloaded. I was not sure if it was because I am on a free Insight Genesis account of if it was because I did something wrong. Also I read on the IG website that the card should only have one at5 file on it. However the social map I downloaded came with 3 at5 files on it. They were vector large, vector medium, and vector small. What do I do with this? thanks guys!

Hey guys is the J knot ok for putting a fc leader onto braid? Ill be using 10 lb braid and a 10lb leader. I know some knots dont work with fc so I wanted to check. thanks!

Hey guys so later this year I am taking a trip to a lake that is very clear. You can see in some places 10-15 feet down. This is very clear to me because the places I usually fish you are lucky to have a day where you can see close to 3 feet. So my questions are, when it comes to plastics what colors should I try? I have no experience with water like this so I feel like I am back to square one. Also, there are both smallmouth and largemouth in this lake. I have never caught a smallmouth before so that is what I want to target the most. I have heard before that smallmouth like something flashier than largemouth usually want. Is that true? What are some colors I could take and have a chance of catching both? Also if it matters I plan to fish docks a lot, but I will also pull out some and try to dropshot for deeper fish. Thanks guys!

Ok thanks guys! What size weight should I use?

Hey guys I want to buy some weighted hooks to try out this swimbait. Gamakatsu swimbait hooks come in different weights and sizes. Would you use a 3/0 hook 1/8oz or a 4/0 hook in 1/8oz? Ill be throwing these around shallow docks so I thought the lighter weight might be better, or would you suggest the 1/4oz?

Hey guys so I am trying to work more on my knowledge of how bass relate to different things. I know for bottom hardness they like to spawn on harder bottoms, but when else do they prefer hard over soft, or vice versa? Thanks guys!

Sorry guys I have one more question. I like the Freedom Tackle Hydra Jig head, but would that being a swing head design be a bit much for clear water? I am not very experienced at all to clear water fishing so I am somewhat concerned about having too much action.

Hey guys I was told about swing impact fats because I fish more stained water. In May I am going to a very clear water lake though. How are the fats in clear water? I love their action I'm just wondering if something a little more subtle would be better? I'll be targeting both small and largemouths Thanks guys!

Thanks for all the replies guys! I have never thrown any type of soft swimbait so I dont really know anything about them. So how do you usually rig them? I like the jig head with an exposed hook in theory so Ill have the best chance of hooking up with a fish and increasing my confidence, however id like some input as to what you would recommend a beginner start with? thanks!

Hey guys so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as to where I can buy just the spool for a lews bb1? I already have the reel, but I want an extra spool so I can keep a different type of line nearby ready to go if I want to switch. I have googled it but Im coming up empty. Any ideas? Thanks!
