What makes you pick that over the ones I mentioned?

Ok thanks! I usually crank on a 5 or 6, but I want to speed it up and try that out. I am going to have an extended handle as well to compensate for torque. I am putting it on a powell endurance 755 CB

Getting a new reel for 6xd style/depth baits. I am going to grab it in a 7 gear ratio. I am between these two reels. Which would you say I should go for and why? Thanks!

Hey guys like the topic says, do you like to use a trailer with your spinnerbaits that have a weight on the hook? Like the Mini-Me's and so on. If so what do you use and do you push it all the way up, like with the weight in the trailer?

Hi guys so I am looking at picking up a rod for cranking for around $200 or less. I am looking for a longer rod that can throw cranks up to 1oz. I am going to be using cranks like the Megabass Deep X 300, DD22, 5xds, and 6xds ect. I was looking at the Powell Endurance 755 CB Glass/Comp. I have one other Powell rod and liked it so much I wanted to go with that brand first, but before making the plunge I wanted to see if anyone has used this rod, if it works well for this, and if there is something you would recommend over that for me to look into? Thanks!

So I am looking for a glass or composite rod around 7'6. It will be for throwing a wide variety of lures. Dt10s to 5xds and DD22s. The two options I have narrowed it down to is the Powell Endurance 755 CB Glass/Comp Or Abu Garcia IKE Delay Casting Rod 7'6" Medium

So Im looking to pick up a new cranking rod that is glass or composite. I want one for cranks similar to dd-22's 5xds and so on. How it the Endurance 755 for this? Thanks!

do you guys rig these like normal or sideways?

So i typically use a swimbait for swim jig trailers and a craw or beaver for pitching. However, I was curious what kind of jig trailers you prefer if you are doing both with the same jig?

what baits would you recommend for the situation where they chasing bait out over deeper water like you mentioned?

So im at a loss for what to be doing different at the moment. In the last month I had 4 different days on the same lake where my best 5 fish went for over 20lbs. The water was 78*f then due to some rain storms we had. I was catching them channel swings and points. Now the last three times out I havent been able to even stick 5 keepers much less good ones. The water in about a 2 weeks jumped up to 90*f. The thermocline is at 13ft deep. I feel like this has put the fish in a funk, but Im not very sure what to do about it to catch them. I had been dragging ole monsters and football jigs for almost all of my catches. Obviously without seeing the lake its hard to say, but given these conditions what would you think is going on?

That does make a lot of sense. The reason I want the longer rod is for when I get bit on long cast I can still feel confident hooking up. I have also used a 7ft heavy duckett mmp and on really long cast I have struggled setting the hook when it is at the end of the cast

Gotchya thanks. Im likely going with the powell then. I have a 735 fury already that I had used for a football jig rod but it is really tip heavy.

They both are the length I’m looking for and they both have the correct weight range. I don’t live. Lose enough to anywhere that sells these so that I can feel them so all I can go by is what I’m reading. How are they different?

So I have broken it down to pretty much the 734 in either line. With the tackle warehouse 4th sale I can get the powell for $127 and the sierra for $150. This is pretty much going to be used for 1/2oz football jigs plus trailers dragging around 10-15 ft. I cannot go anywhere locally to get my hand on either of these. Which would you recommend?

So for example say I am sitting on a point on a man made reservoir, and the current is flowing from the left to the right. I have always been taught that the bass are likely sitting on the right side of the point facing into the current for the current to push bait towards them. So because of this, the idea is to throw your bait out against the current so you bring the bait back with the current. I know other circumstances can cause bass to set up differently, but for this example lets ignore all of that and just focus on how current can cause bass to set up and how to fish it. Now my friend says that bait fish swim against the current and because of this you should throw your bait out with the current so that when you bring your bait back it is coming back against the current. We could not come to an agreement so I told him I would ask on here and get a general opinion. Thanks!!

hahaha yea I wish i was like that! I am so used to my other stuff I think i just need to switch over to all the same reels then I would be happy
