  1. Spoons, hard and soft jerkbaits, soft swim baits, topwaters, paddle tails, grubs… I’d suggest you try to find some tidal creeks or inshore waterways to fish
  2. Anybody throw things like Sebile/Berkley magic swimmers on it?
  3. Recently picked up a new Dobyns 736CB and Tatula SV 150 combo and took it for its maiden voyage throwing chatterbaits on Guntersville. For those who also have the 736CB, what else do you use it for besides what it says on the rod? This is my first composite rod so still very much in the adjusting phase.
  4. The rods are not perfectly aligned. Please redo 😅
  5. Oh lawd… Don't forget the beetle spins!
  6. These look like the kind of baits that would make angry Lanier spots go crazy.
  7. You may want to size up to a 4000 size as some insurance in the event you hook one of those whales.
  8. I picked up tennis during COVID, still playing 3 times a week.
  9. No saltwater???
  10. Some handy info here https://www.saltstrong.com/articles/how-to-replace-treble-hooks/
  11. Played competitively in my teens and twenties. Haven’t played in probably 20 years but recently started thinking about taking my sons out to play.
  12. Just placed an order. Cannot wait to have my own life-size pic of @A-Jay hanging over the fireplace 😂
  13. Once you get there, visit a local tackle shop for good intel.
  14. Tarpon, redfish, snook, jack crevalle, permit, bonefish, sailfish, cubera snapper, roosterfish, yellowfin tuna…
  15. Don’t discount the many creeks, marches, inlets and backwater in the area as well. Assuming you’re a bass fisherman since you’re on this site, so your bass gear is perfectly appropriate for targeting reds, trout and flounder in the above-mentioned areas
  16. I’ve been a Stradic guy for a long time but I’ve started accumulating Daiwa spinning reels lately. Primarily for the rigs that perform double duty in saltwater. Don’t really think you can go wrong. Choose the one which balances better in your rod.
  17. To me, the Z-man is a good choice for swimming or dragging a bait in open water or very light cover. That head shape is not a good option for working a bait through rip rap or chunk rock.
  18. Thanks for the info. Sounds like a great time!
  19. I’ll bite (pun intended)… what does finesse fishing for snook look like? I’ve only caught a few in the mid 20s but the big boys have been on my bucket list as long as I’ve had a bucket list.
  20. Interest? Yes… Available vacation days will be VERY difficult though. Two weeks already spoken for for an Alaskan cruise. I’ll send you some halibut 😀
  21. No no…it’s totally clear to me.
