  1. with a pond prowler i would say use a sticker mount to the trolley motor and the camera should be set up in wide view so it will pan everything your doing thats what i use on my jon boat! And for the second one maybe look into a handlebar mount with a stick so it sits up high and can view the other fisher if not both of you depending on how high it is set to! you can put the handlebar mount to a handle on the boat because im pretty sure they have handles but not 100%! https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1024&bih=636&q=jon+boat+mods&oq=jon+boat+&gs_l=img.3.3.0l10.1535.2918.0.7349.9.9.0.0.0.0.137.819.7j2.9.0....0...1ac.1.32.img..1.8.681.15weG0mE5OQ#hl=en&q=go+pro+fishing+mount&tbm=isch&facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=v4TjdYNIglRc7M%3A%3BitHL1Z6n1O4KTM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.kayalu.com%252Fk%252Fimg%252Fmisc%252Fexpedition_kit_arm.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.kayalu.com%252Fk%252Fradpole-portable-ram-mounts-navigation-kayak-light-camera-mount-fishing-pole-mount_page_3.php%3B97%3B705 that ones for a kayak but maybe you could find a way to mount it like they show on the website granted a crate isnt gonna be convenient for space in a pond prowler! http://www.anglerscenter.com/boat-accessories/onboard-video-recording-equipment/gopro-hd-hero3-plus-jaws-flex-clamp-mount/ there is also the jaws flex mount that might work also! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/128692-new-gopro-boat-mount/ another good idea depends on if you wanna drill a mount into your boat or not http://www.kayalu.com/k/radpole-portable-ram-mounts-navigation-kayak-light-camera-mount-fishing-pole-mount_page_3.php hope these are helpful!!
  2. with the sully transducer mount?
  3. ya i just dont know how well the suction cup will hold if i run into some brush or whatever!
  4. I recently posted about finding the right fish finder and was in the market for one but for christmas "santa" ended up bringing me what seems to be an awesome little starter unit! So now i am trying to decide on how to mount it! I was wondering if the sully transducer lcr mount is a good setup or not? Ive read the reviews and everyone sais the instructions suck which isnt a big deal im sure i can figure it out! But the setups gonna be on a 14 foot jon boat and im looking for something that's not permanent because i dont have a trailer so i just throw it in the bed of the truck or in my van. If anyone has some setup pics or ideas let me know! I've youtubed a lot of videos and didnt really have much luck on seeing setups so im open to all suggestions!!!! Thank you!
  5. Ive been to two meetings so far and honestly i like the group so far!! They had some discussions about the 2014 tourney schedule that led into some arguing but it was from one of those guys that just looks like hes always mad about something so i just kind of ignored it! I joined as a non boater and they welcomed me with wide open arms and even tried to nominate for a position on the board but i turned it down because i feel like i need some time to really figure out how things go! But so far everyone is insanely nice and hoping it leads to lots of learning and maybe some new fishing partners!! keeping my fingers crossed!!
  6. I honestly dont know if they will stay stuck to the outboard but i can tell you the adhesive mounts are extremely strong! we use them for motocross and ive seen dudes wreck insanely hard and them stay stuck onto the helmet and im talking like bouncing your head off the ground rolling on the ground like the camera getting landed on into the dirt and they still stay on!!
  7. Yes it was!! it has officially made me okay with going out in the cold weather HAHA
  8. get a fish finder and stop guess fishing lol then work on using crankbaits and jigs a lot more so i can get good at them!
  9. i dont like seeing multiples of big bass that someone post a picture of back at there house or camp ground and you know they are dead! I understand mounting your biggest bass or something over 8 pounds or whatever number some ppl have picked out to be big enough to mount but i always practice catch and release to hope that people will do the same and keep the spots that i fish going strong with good numbers of big bass but thats not always the case!!!! And i agree with the trash its pretty pathetic how lazy and disrespectful people can be about that!!
  10. no i dont take offense to it lol there's much worst things i could have and im blessed that adhd is all i "technically" have wrong with me hahaha your alright man I dont take it personally!!
  11. uve been a huge help dude i really appreciate it!
  12. im the same way constantly looking around lol but i actually have adhd lol so it would never work and also dont like the chest mounts either
  13. sorry about the misunderstanding! It's starting to make a lot more sense now. Thank you for the help!
  14. another big sell point the guy was saying at scheels was about how the hummingbirds come with a card so you can put the navionics maps on it and stuff! is that option what they call the chartplotter?
  15. thank you for the help!! and i was really wanting a side imaging, down scan, 2d, and gps but after watching youtube videos last night for a couple hours on fish finders the side imaging honestly kind of confused me on how the layout is on the screen! it may have been the video i watched of it being explained that confused me im not really sure! But with hummingbird im pretty sure the unit i looked at had all of that but i found a lowrance with down scan, 2d, and gps elite 7 so a bigger screen for a little cheaper than the hummingbird just no side imaging which im not sure i need! i really want it but im not sure i can really understand it! and if you have side and down imaging and everything on your fish finder why do you sight fish? do you just know the lake well enough?
  16. Ya i hate when they get pushy also that was kind of my story behind it all! Because i like the lowarance models from what i see in the store and like it was stated in this topic they are setup in store to look good so they can sell models!! But for some reason the hummingbird just doesnt appeal much to me but the sad part is im goin of only by messing with them in store not actually using one! and it sucks because i honestly dont get much time to see how some of these models work on the water! i guess i could try youtube! what made you want the lowrance? and also does lowrance come with down and side scan? some guy posted on here about them possibly not having it or it comes as a separate deal or something?
  17. well i honestly wanna spend a ton of time on the water this coming up summer but not having electronics now makes it a struggle it seems like to locate where they are! and what i mean by that is almost everytime i go fishing i hardly ever catch more than 2 bass and when i catch one i usually try to sit there and fan cast and do different speed retrieves and switch things up and still nothing it just doesnt make sense to me and i feel like knowing drop offs and be able to see structure under the water will really help me and i hardly ever get skunked besides now that its winter i got skunked a couple times but i feel that having electronics is gonna be a pretty big help to me fishing more effectively! so thats why im trying to learn and see what will suit me best and find a good price range! Do
  18. i actually deal a lot with ebay and bought a rod and reel setup off of there all brand new for way cheaper and had absolutely no problems with it!! i like ebay a lot the only problems i have really had is at times the shipping is slower than listed but thats kind of crappy excuse to complain lol
  19. thank you!!
  20. thanks thats actually a lot of help!! do you like the side imaging? and do you feel that it is very helpful or not so helpful?
  21. really? i would be sending it back then because when i unpackaged mine i stuck it right to my kitchen table and lifted the side of it off the ground just to make sure it worked!! and ive stuck it to the windshield of my step dads boat and it stayed fine i of course didnt pull on it or anything lol his boats way to expensive to be doing that to haha
  22. So i apparently need to try to fish Minnesota in the future lol because the fish on that go pro video are healthy!! almost looks like a video in Texas or something haha
  23. i just picked up a suction cup mount im really wanting to try but i havent gone out on a boat yet where i can use it! i put a sticky mount that the go pro comes with on top of my trolley motor and it works pretty well i actually got some footage of a 4 1/2 pounder i caught a few weeks back! But the picture was actually perfect for where i stand
  24. Okay so the other day i was at scheels and i was just scoping out fish finders because i know i need to purchase one here pretty soon! The associate was really pushing a hummingbird unit 598 or something along those lines i know it was like 800 dollars and had side scan, down imaging, and gps. It was on sale for 600 and he said it was the last unit they had in stock so i would have gotten the display model for possibly 10-20% off im not really sure but what he was saying is that they are selling off most of certain units because they are goin to be discontinued and a new model will replace it and that i wont be able to buy the old or new model for that sale price! How much truth is there to them replacing it with a different model because ive been kind of kicking myself for not possibly picking it up and not only that but i feel like lowrance makes a little better product but i also dont know much about fish finders so some help in that area would be great to of what you like and dislike about the two different makes! He was really pushing the hummingbird unit on me though saying it will be the best for my money and really trying to get me to buy it which is his job so thats why i kind of want to get some more info on them! thank you!
