  1. I support the one close to me for rod and reel repair. I used to buy Case plastics from them but don't use that brand anymore. Most of their items are at a plus suggested retail. Hard to pay full retail plus a couple bucks more for a bait. Although I always add something to the list when I get a repair.
  2. A Carrot Stix I was going to bid on ebay went for over $200 recently. To much for me. I have one and love it. It's the original PG model. I've broken three Kistlers and this rod has lasted even catching some pretty big bass. I'm not a fan boy because I use many different rod brands. It's light and responsive and it's a ton of fun catching bass with.
  3. I checked out three DSG's close to me and bought a RevoMGX for 149.98 and a Veritas 6ft 9in for 56.23. Senkos for 4.48, in watermelon, bought one bag. That was all that was left. KVD squarebills in 2.5 DB craw for 2.98. That was the only choice of color and size. They had Strike King Perfect Skirts-magic tails for 1.49 and I got one pack. I got everything from one store the other 2 didn't have anything worth buying. I saw the Revo one day and left without buying it. The more i thought about it the more i wanted to get it. I was happy to see it was still there. The reason i didn't buy it the first time i saw it was because i asked one of the clerks if the .97 ending price was good for the 25% off the reel. He said no. Well i remembered later them saying that one other time Citicas were marked down. They were so I thought what the heck. i took it to the checkout and if they didn't reduce it the 25% more i would tell them i didn't want it. The extra came off so i was a proud owner of a new MGX. They didn't have any other reels marked down with the .97. but I'll keep going back to check. I remember when Wal-mart was marking down the old Curados and i got three for $25. I guess you just have to persevere.
  4. I was buying the Citica 200E's for $60 from Gander when they were reducing them. I sold about 20 of them on ebay for anywhere from $89 to $119. Then they started to sell them with their own brand rod. I have 9 or the rods i don't use. The rods retailed for $59. I tried to sell the rods on craigslist but didn't have anyone interested in them. Back when Wal Mart was getting rid of the old green Curados I bought 5 of them. One for $75 one for $55 and 3 for $25. I have passed up many more deals on rods and reels and baits at Dicks and Gander Mt. It's worth your time checking them out whenever you can.
  5. Red Eye Shad in the Sexy Shad color.
  6. Whatever happened to BPS building a store in Washington PA? I liked Sportmans Warehouse for fishing. To bad they closed it. I think F and S is ok.
  7. I will weigh a bass from a new lake if I feel it's better than 4 lbs. I also will weigh one if my girlfriend wants to know what her fish weighs. But my main reason is to weigh the record breaker from my state. Which I hope to catch someday.
  8. You can't look for the end unless you find the beginning.
  9. This happened when I was around 10 years old maybe. It was back in the 60's. My dad and i fished for crappies on a causway between Pa and Ohio called Pymatuning Lake. Someone told him to use Erie Shinners. They worked like magic on the crappies. We had a stringerful of them all over 14 inches. A while after we were there a van pulled up and a woman was assisting a disabled vet to fish. People on both sides of us weren't doing to good but we were killing them. My dad and I talked and decided to tell the lady about the Erie shinners. He asked me to ask her if she would like the crappies we caught also. I didn't mind because we had some already back at the cabin and we could keep fishing for more if we wanted to, She gladly accepted the fish and thanked me for the fish and idea of using the Erie shinners. She also insisted on giving me something for everything. I said that's alright she didn't need to give me anything. She was insistant. So we finally ended up on her sending me a baseball glove. She took my addy and thanked me again. My dad taught me a good lesson that day. I am still waiting for that glove but always have a warm feeling thinking about my dad and the way I felt when it happened. To this day i never think twice when someone needs help.
  10. I used to fish for walleye mostly until I found out about bass. My old bosses son took me to a nice size pond loaded with bass. The only thing was the pond had some very large bass in it. Almost every cast was rewarded with a fish. My biggest was around 5lbs. One time they were hitting so good they jumped out of the water to hit your bait before it landed. You could have gone through a bag on Senkos in an hour. I was spoiled. It was overloaded but still pumped out some big fish.
  11. Just make the feet as long as the bed.
  12. Fished there one time from my boat. No electronics so just did the dam area and shoreline. Fished about 3 years ago. If I can remember correctly didn't do to well. A couple of dinks.
  13. I used to drift fish muddler minnows with a split shot for walleye. Never caught a bass but did catch a lot of walleyes and some catfish.
  14. I ordered some RC Lucky Crafts last saturday and still haven't got them.
  15. Using it on my c14 with no problems.
