  1. Lake of The Ozarks is crazy in the summer. If you are not running atleast a 20' boat you should really not go out and try to fight it. Just wait till 7pm and catch a night tourney. Our club stops fishing Day Tourneys at LOZ at the end of April, maybe catch one the first weekend of May after that it is a no go. We will do 1 night tourney in June and one in July. Other than that we go to different lakes around the state.
  2. I keep it on till I decide if I like the rod or not. I usually try to make this decision in the yard before I hit water though.
  3. I fish them alot with great success. Some of my biggest fish have come from these. I have never changed the hooks on one. I believe they will still get veg. on them if you do that. I would thing you would have to get some sort of weedless or snagless treble hooks to keep this from happening.
  4. I really need 100. But I can get by on tournament day with 12-15. 4-6 If I am going as a non boater.
  5. Glad to hear your property is ok. It didnt hit us as badly as predicted yesterday. But man o man are our llakes, creeks, rivers and ditches flowing heavy right now. So many places where the water was over the road on my way home from work. Some of the local ponds and lakes I fish were just running out into yards.
  6. Mine just did this a few weeks ago but the white part of that coupling on the motor side was broke into 3 pieces. Got the new part the next day for $10 and was back up 30 minutes after I got home. I am willing to bet we saved a few lures worth of cash myself.
  7. Sure is frustrating. But all you can do is pick it up so the land owner doesnt kick you off the property. It is like cleaning up after your children.
  8. Go to the Videos tab and watch a video by Glenn. I believe it is called choosing the right hook size or something and it is very informative.
  9. I use them for T Rig Scrounger trailers and a goto on my punch rigs.
  10. I will make a long story short. I was fishing a T rig and on the fall it got nailed and took off. By the time I could get the slack in I felt that I was hung up. I knew it was wrapped around a stump because I know the lake and that stump well. Anyway It was hot and I wanted my Weight and hook back so I dove under to unwrap the line and as soon as it was loose it took off. Thankfully I still had the line in hand so I started the hand over hand trick and ended up the fish was still on it after several minutes. Must have been a really good hookset. Swam him to the boat unhooked him and watched him swim off.
  11. Nice score man. Love those things and they produce so well in our large lakes her in Missouri as MO_LMB stated the bite is heating up.
  12. yeah we got a bit more hail at 3 am this morning and severe rains. The creeks and lakes are all flooded and look like coffe with alot of creamer. They are calling for more hail in bigger sizes at 3 pm today with severe thunderstorms and Tornados. Got to love this Missouri weather.
  13. I like a 7'3' to a 7'6" H/F. I like to set the hook with a side sweep, I feel this gives the best hook up ratio. I also Like a good sensetive rod, FC line, Tungsten weight, and a Carolina keeper. I use FC becuase I have alot of fish hit the bait on slack line and the Carolina keeper for quick depth changes incase you find some grass. The main reason I recommend FC and Tungsten is because if you dont feel the bite and get the hookset fast enough the fish can and most of the time will swallow the hook. It is always fun to catch a hog on the C rig but can also ruin your day really fast when you notice the hook is in its stomach.
  14. Can you get ahold of a mid 90's All Star? If so do it. If not go with lews. I really do not like the new All Stars.
  15. Baitcasting reel. That would work best for the trigger rod.
  16. I am so ticked about this. Eagles are my team and we were stacked this coming season. We will still be good but man he was clutch.
  17. Just had a Hail storm pass through Mid Missouri and it was the worst I haveever seen. Sizes we ranging from a dime to almost a half dollar. Needless to say my truck is beat to hell and so Is everyone elses around here. These pictures are from the first storm. 20 Minutes later it fired up again and got another round of almost the exact same mess.

  23. You will not be disappointed, these baits line my peg boards.
  24. I just put a friends Cummins on Craigslist for super cheap, gave a nice description of the flat bed and snow plow and left his cell phone number. I am still laughing. I hope we can still be friends when tomorrow comes around.
