  1. Welcome to Missouri. Table Rock is a fun lake to fish but as BlueBasser said earlier it can be tough.
  2. And I got my lure back.
  3. Yeah that was a strange catch. That guy actually wrapped my line around a submerged log. I thought he got off but to my surprise whe is was unwinding my line from around the log it took off and a just pulled my line back till he was in my hands. Weird day but pretty fun.
  4. HAHAHA. Dont know why but that made me laugh when I scrolled down.
  5. And I believe these are still on sale at TW for 125.00, that is a smoking deal. You would love it.
  6. Welcome To BR. You will learn lots
  7. I used these a few times in the fall with success. I added a few Colorado blades to the mix with the Willowleaf blades and the bass that were pulling shallow chasing shad loved it.
  8. My first Jig fish came on a 1/2 Chompers Brush Jig. I was fishing a Long stretch of Rip Rap in one of my first club tournaments when I was 17. I Had side hooked a couple of nice Carp and Buffalo's with a White Crankbait but Bass bite was slow. Ended up deciding to throw this Jig with little "jig" experience( besides what I had read in magazines) and on my 5th cast I felt a very subtle tap then noticed my line moving so I set the hook and felt the weight. I ended up getting 2nd in the tourney and Big Bass with that beautiful 5.15lb hog. I will never forget it, and I dont beleve my boater will either because I might have went a little Ike on his back deck.
  9. If the ares you are fishing are full of submerged rocks and brush then go for it. You will like the abrasion resistance, and if you are getting hung up in the overhanging trees you will respect the ability to get that lure down. What type of lures are you throwing most of the time? That will be a big factor in deciding what type of line to use! I always keep a couple of rods spooled with PP when I am out on the water my F/P rod and a work rod if I am working brush.
  10. T3 Air, PX68R, Zillion. All depends on what I am throwing, but I truly love the Zillion.
  11. I used Orange Clean Degreaser and It would like a dream. Also the Simple Green would work they are almost the same thing. Dont forget to add a little elbow grease.
  12. I found my 98' Nitro 700LX a few months ago on CL and talked the guy down a bit and ended up getting it for 3200.00. Has a 115 Mariner with very low hours just has some oxidation, and I have a good buffer, so said deal.Came with GPS finder/plotter at dash and finder at bow. 55lb. MK. Got a great deal worst part the right tire blew on the trailer on the way home which was no fun but had a spare so it wasnt bad.. So keep looking you will totally find someting.
  13. Do you know of any good streams off of the Misouri to catch some quality smallies? I was thinking of running to the Gasconade River because I have heard of smallies in that body of water.
  14. Go Cards.
  15. I agree wih everyone on this. Siebert Outdoors has a link on this page(top right) and they make a quality product with many style heads, sizes and great colors that can match most any fishing situation you will encounter. The New dredge jig they offer is a new on to my TB and I love them. You will not be dissapointed with their jigs. You could also try Chompers.
  16. I agree, I have fished Diawa for the last 7 or 8 years and love everything about them. Their rods and reels have never failed me(tough a buddy did shut 5 of my Light and Tough series rods in the tailgate a few years back.) I have been converting my friends over to them for years.
  17. So I live in Mid Missouri near Columbia. I was wondering if there was anyone in the area that has fished this part of the river or near this part of the river for Smallies? I am wanting to take the boat out and try it in the next week or two and would like to hear if any others have had experience with it.
  18. Texas or Carolina Rig.
  19. I agree with Alberto here. The slight change in color can make a huge difference in how the fish reacts to it. Watching the line has always been a good indication to me on when to set the hook. If the line is running set the hook. And sometimes the bass feel the hard metal jig in there mouth and will spit it out almost instantly, either way if the line moves set the hook.
