It is a good real with lots of features for the money. The rod actually isnt that bad for the money either. I am not saying you couldnt spend a bit more and get a much better rod but for rods in that price range it is well built. My buddy has the 7' rod with the 2500SH reel and I have use it, I thought it worked well and he loves it.
Recently sold my motorcycle and have been debating on pulling the pre order gun on this reel! I keep thinking of all the other goodies I could buy for that price though. Truly a sweet looking reel.
Well I only fish a few tourneys a year at table rock and bull shoals the rest are fairly merky like LOZ. So I guess I am going to go with the Yo Zurich smoke and green.
Haha, cannot believe I did not notice the title error before submitting the post. Got to love posting from an apple product!
BTW could a mod fix that for me? if I can do it tell me how please.
Thanks-Eric
All good rods for the money. Take a spooled up reel and a jig to the store and try them out. Sounds weird but its the only way. Other than that they are all decent rods. I would honestly go the route of the Shimano, solid rod from a dependable company.
Well they are heavy, tip-heavy, lure rating is accurate and you will want a heavier reel to help with balance. It is a nice rod though expecially for the prices they are going for right now. Go 7'3" for punching.
Depends on what you are fishing. I was just mentioning it because it is a good standard. I would use that 6'3" for lots of things though I would prefer a longer rod if I was fishing deeper waters.

I dont believe it brings pain to the fish but Injuries are different. A 3 foot drop into open water is not going to hurt a fish dropping a fish on a rock in 6 inches of water is going to injure a fish but bass are part of the animal kingdom and meant to try and survive by all means necessary if a fisherman dropping it in the water is the worst that ever happens to it then I would say it has had one fantastic life. This does not mean I just throw a fish back in the water I respect the fish and treat them like it so I release them as stress free as possible.
I would not use fluoro on an A-Rig. If you do by chance have a "professional overrun" with that heavy of a bait on there go ahead and render that FC useless or kiss that bait goodbye. just my .02 though.
Jigs use a 7/8:1 High gear ratio/higher IPT and InvisX fluoro, Cranks us a 5:1 low ration/less IPT spinnerbait and topwater I would say a standard 6:1 will work just fine.
I love fishing in the rain. There is just something peaceful and relaxing about it. I have also had some of my most productive days in the rain like a 24 lb 5 Sack at LOZ last spring.
Unscrew the cam lock screw and slide the side plate up if that doesnt work it is stuck on something. Maybe the cam lock screw is not slid over all of the way.
I own several Zillions 100SHA's,100HA,100SHSA,100HSHR. You will love them. It is my favorite reel. Very reliable and has a very durable finish. You made a great decision.
