  1. Anyone have any experience with Back Rack SS in boat rod organizers? They have a lip that slips under the edge of the rear hatch lids and hold your rods in a horizontal row up off the deck.
  2. Must have used every brand on the market, starting with Dixie Dancer. Finally settled on Nichols and never looked back. Top notch materials and construction. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
  3. I got my LTHS through TW and couldn't wait to try it out on my home lake.It looked and felt very well made with very sharp Trokar hooks. Unfortunately the bass in my lake will have nothing to do with it. You can impart great action to this lure so I don't know what the deal is . On the other hand, my Whopper Plopper 90 also from TW turned out to be a fish magnet.
  4. I tried mine out on my lake today and all it did was bounce off the water. I'll have to try it again after the ice melts. Stay tuned for further results.
  5. I clean my rods with some warm water and a few drops of dish soap. When they are dry I wipe them down with a silicone gun cloth.
  6. Never sealed my cork grips. I use a liquid cork cleaner. I don't like the feel of anything between me and the cork.
  7. Very nice. I love throwing ''hardware''.
  8. Article in the paper today about KVD . Says he casts about 300 times an hour when he is competing in a tournament. Unfortunately, our guy didn't qualify for the final day.
  9. I checked out the 3'' at GM and it did look pretty tiny but on the other hand the 3'' or 3.5'' are probably a good, easy snack size for a hungry bass. I love top water so I'll most likely get one to try out. Like some of the posts above suggest, the bass will see it as just one more thing to eat.
  10. I've been buying black, short arm Zorro spinner baits, putting my own black, round rubber ''tux & tail'' skirt on with a trailer hook and a single, #5 deep cup , gold colo. Also have been getting good results with black chatter baits.I do a lot of night fishing and these produce well for me.
  11. My lake is full of 'gills and I'm wondering if that LTS might not be a bad lure to try come spring. They look good in the catalogs and on line but I would like to see one in my local tackle shop. I love top water fishing so I find this lure very interesting.
  12. I take full responsibility, Stevo.
  13. I like the grey, snag free carpet that came in my TV-17 and wouldn't change it. It just seems more comfortable to sit or stand on. I don't have any experience with vinyl flooring but the majority of my fishing is in fair weather with an occasional shower and my carpeting cleans up easily and dries pretty fast.
  14. My lake has a fair number of stunted pike. I use a thin wire leader on all my crank baits. They also seem to like my spinner baits so I just bumped up my line weight (Trilene XT) and get very few bite-offs now. They don't bother most of the other lures I use, much. Some pike will roll in the water and wind your line around their head. If it gets into their gills or crosses a tooth, their gone. I carry a pike tool kit, lip grippers, jaw spreaders, 12'' needle nose pliers and a pair of welders gloves. I don't like dealing with them because they are mostly lure wreckers but if you fish where pike are you have to accept the fact that you will catch them.
  15. I received a Curado I as a gift and it's a great reel but I wouldn't pay the going rate of $180. that I see in the catalogs. If you can snag one for around $129. as the above posts suggest then I would consider it.
