  1. Thanks for responding y'all. This is the first time I've seen this kind of recording on my sonar. I've used this sonar a few times only. If it matters, it's setup on my kayak. That's why the speed is less than 2 mph.
  2. Are these fishes I see on my sonar? What do the lines represent between 72 degree and 52 degree? More pics
  3. I can't thank you enough, Wayne. Now that I think about it more, I prefer to have sonar data where I'm at while fishing. I will go this route instead of just using one transducer.
  4. Alumacraft pro 175 and minn kota edge.
  5. I appreciate the detailed information. This really helps. I am planning to get the hdsi transducer. All I want for now is to view si di 2d GPS and temp on the di unit. The si unit will be at the console and di will be at the now. I read the humminbird ethernet setup guide but am still confuse. I understand the unit to unit connection but where do I plug the hdsi transducer? Or would it be a better idea to run both transducers (si transducer in the back of boat and di transducer on the trolling motor)? Wayne if you had these two units, how would you set them up without using the switch?
  6. I just bought the 859ci hd di and 899ci hd si units. I also bought 2 ethernet dongles, 20 ft ethernet cable and the Y cable. Can I network these 2 units without using the humminbird 5 port ethernet switch? Can I use just one transducer?
  7. I use both but prefer the charcoal/wood taste. Favorite proteins to grill are tri tip ribs and steak. I'm in the process of getting better at smoking food.
  8. I would get this over ugly stick. http://www.herzogfishing.com/product/Lews-Speed-Stick-Spinning-Combo-6-M-2pc-5.21
  9. Good luck Mike!
  10. IMO 10-20 lb braid with a fluorocarbon leader for spinning 10-12 lb fluorocarbon.
  11. FYI salmon fishing is closed so far due to water drought. Good time to hunt for them is late august and after. During this time from what I know they come to spawn only but I could be wrong. I've seen a picture of a chinook salmon in silver color caught in Sacramento off a blue fox spinner (or something similar as I don't recall). Where I forgot too. The info is on tackletour forums if you're interested. This was last year in early October in oroville. Where exactly I couldnt tell you cause I don't know. My brother took us there. This was given to my brother in law so I am not taking credit for this fish. Setup was the weights that are shape like an I, swivel and lead line that is 6-20 ft long with a bead or 2 above the hook. Its all luck. Cast into water, let it drift and if lucky then the hook will be in salmons mouth. Set the hook and fish on. I think early October is too late for salmons cause they're this color and saw some floating along the shore.
  12. It's a known problem. What caused this? I forgot what they said but they sent me new knobs free of charge.
  13. Lure weights are different from medium and medium light. You'll be able to cast heavier lures with medium.
  14. Thanks but I won't take the credit because I didn't catch it. My cousin did. Crappie was caught on a minnow.
  15. From what I understand, jerkbaits work all year long. Jerkbaits are a visibility bait. The bass need to see it, even if it's from a distance. Water visibility is the key. So as long as you have good water visibility they'll hit. Color is important too. That I have yet to master.
  16. Thanks. They call it a pink crappie. Haha... jk. It's actually blood that you are seeing.
  17. Caught yesterday morning at Pine Flat Lake California. Close to 13 1/2 inches.
  18. Versatile rod specs: medium or medium heavy power and fast action. Length 6'6"-7' shimano is a great brand to go with. *** *** rod, Fenwick elite tech small mouth Are you getting a spinning or casting rod?
  19. Only experience I have with it was at dicks too. It is tip heavy which I don't like.
  20. I have the premier 66MLF but not a medium so I will compare it to a fenwick HMG 66MF. The Premier is great for finesse bass fishing. This rod has great casting distance. I also use it for crappie and trout fishing. The HMG is too stiff to throw lighter stuff but I didn't buy it for that reason. I let my brother borrowed it when we went trout fishing and he was having trouble getting distance. I only use the fenwick for its weight listed. You'll be happy with the premier 66MLF.
  21. Now days it's cheaper to order stuff online versus driving. That's my excuse for ordering stuff online. Lol
  22. For frogging bb1 pro
  23. I say get a left hand retrieve reel but to be sure sneak a peek at his reels. Here you go: http://www.***.com/Shimano_Curado_200_I_Casting_Reel/descpage-SCI.html
