FYI salmon fishing is closed so far due to water drought. Good time to hunt for them is late august and after. During this time from what I know they come to spawn only but I could be wrong. I've seen a picture of a chinook salmon in silver color caught in Sacramento off a blue fox spinner (or something similar as I don't recall). Where I forgot too. The info is on tackletour forums if you're interested.
This was last year in early October in oroville. Where exactly I couldnt tell you cause I don't know. My brother took us there. This was given to my brother in law so I am not taking credit for this fish. Setup was the weights that are shape like an I, swivel and lead line that is 6-20 ft long with a bead or 2 above the hook. Its all luck. Cast into water, let it drift and if lucky then the hook will be in salmons mouth. Set the hook and fish on.
I think early October is too late for salmons cause they're this color and saw some floating along the shore.
