i wish i knew about this game last week though, the girlfriend unit caught this bad boy behind my buddies house after jiu jitsu
easily the biggest freshwater fish she's ever caught
ok well i didn't measure any officially to throw my numbers up there but here's a couple for warms ups
i got me one and the ladies got themselves one each
everyone caught fish so it was good times all around
no it's the bigger one back there
it's one of the oldest and biggest bodies of freshwater back in those parts
i'd venture to say it's got the biggest fish around, but yeah you need a little kayak or something to get out into the deep
big swamp lake at the town center, been there forever
you need a kayak or small john boat but at 5-6-7am when the sun crests on the tree line the water ******* explodes
i'm talking IED type explosions
never seen anything like it before in my life, that's the lake where we caught the 30 pound catfish
yeah if any of yall are into grass carp check out
7159 Corklan Drive
Jacksonville, FL 32258
there's a pond right in front that's stocked with big grass carp, you can use the good ol' standby bread on a hook but i like a little cheese ball on a hook
you can't remove them or harm them but they're fun as **** all day long
you ain't lyin, i can't wait for it to get cooler
i went out on my lunch break to the pond behind my building (near baptist south) and threw off on it for a couple minutes
holy jumping jesus was it hot as ****, not even a nibble
can't wait till the sun goes down i'm gonna go spot check a couple areas around kernan and beach around 7pm
i found it!
looks like it's owned by a man named SKINNER ARTHUR CHESTER on the tax records, maybe i'll write him a letter or call him up and ask nicely
man i tell ya, if the people in this world were HALF as awesome as you fellers on here the earth would be a much nicer place
less fish in it maybe but a much nicer place haha!
i'll post my results when they come in
cheers!
good thinkin!
we went out there in kayaks and caught a 30 pound catfish and a about 20-30 bass between the 4 of us during sunrise
we got the boot when 2 dudes showed up in bass boat and said we needed "permission" to be on these waters
lake was so big we could barely see each other but these two dudes wanted it all to themselves, they were super rude about it too.
Does anyone happen to know who owns the property called "Big Island Swamp" on google maps, it's in the town center directly across the street from applebees, chick-fil-a and fidelity investments. there's some large fish in there but i think you need permission to fish it.
