Hi! I found this forum by accident, and boy am I glad I did!! Can't believe the wealth of knowledge and experience here.
I'm retired, Navy vet, had jobs in electronics, linework for a cable co., and nursing. I'm pretty much a self -taught angler, but I've always wanted to fish with others with more experience. None of the men in my life has liked to fish, only my dad! From time to time I hire a guide in the Belgrade area up here and benefit enormously just from one day on the water. I have one son, Brian, who used to pat me on the head and smile when I'd get my gear......I'd pat him on the head when he got his computer.......it was our running joke
I also fly fish (learning), write, volunteer at nursing homes, putter with wood and now generally get up when I want to. Am building a solar house I designed ( beats chest ;D ) out in the woods......slowly! I put in the foundation in 2008 but have since hired crews as my income has allowed 'cause of injury. Next spring I'm headed out there to stay in it and finish it as I can. A labor of love for sure.
I fish just about every day during Maine's short season. I take my kayak and go all over the place. But one dream is to spend a week in the south fishing for those Southern bass!! Glad to be here!
