  1. I want the ATAK badly. lol.
  2. I've noticed that too.
  3. I'm trying to organize my hard tackle this winter. I'm wondering about storing spinnerbaits. I have one of those Plano 3600 spinner bait organizer boxes. When you put them in you have to bend one of the arms down so it stays hooked down. Does storing spinnerbaits like that cause them to bend and warp over time and lead to them being permanently bent? Here is the Plano box I'm talking about:
  4. They kept saying on the live stream how this weekend was historic in that they had live cameras on many of the boats for the first time. I wonder if they are taking a hint from MLF and how well that series is produced. BassMaster needs a Roku channel. I would pay extra if I could stream KVD fishing all day to my Roku and TV.
  5. Was it only a 6" hole? I was only half paying attention to it. I thought the hole was much larger.
  6. Bass fishing is not NFL football. Fishing is about spring time and summer time. If they are going to hold the greatest bass fishing tournament then I want to see it take place during the prime of the season, spring or maybe summer but most likely spring. And when I say spring I'm talking T-shirt type weather or light jacket weather. Not the weather those guys had to face this weekend. But I will admit it was fun to see them fish in tough conditions.
  7. I know what I'm talking about. What Ashley was able to legally do was crazy. I'm not saying he won it because of that. I'm not saying he cheated. I'm saying he won fair and square. But it's a loony rule and should be changed because it does sound very very unfair. If the state or Federal Government want to put brushpiles in the water to help the fish population, then that is good. But a competitor doing it for competition reasons? Not good.
  8. OK, he won fair and square. As far as the planting of over fifty brushpiles - I've only been fishing for a couple of years now and only started paying attention to tournament fishing last year. But I have to say that is one crazy loony rule one can get away with. How can a competitor plant over fifty brushpiles and say it's fair? No way. BassMaster needs to change the rule book.
  9. I wonder if they told him he had to use a baitcaster and flip it? I could have made it easy with my spinning reel/rod with an over hand cast. If they told him he had to flip it with a baitcaster then I say Berkley set the guy up to fail.
  10. Every freaking time I tune in online I see dogs jumping into water! Hey, I love dogs, but enough!
  11. Too bad there isn't another MLF tournmanet on right now. I know the Bassmaster Classic is going on but that will not be on TV for a few weeks. We have four or five weeks left of winter. A perfect time to show another MLF tournament.
  12. Do people need permission from the state down there when they throw those trees in the water? It does seem rather unsporting.
  13. I'm glad I read this thread. I figured everyone would be saying they catch double digit bass every year or something. Makes me think when I catch a three pound bass that I'm doing really really good.
  14. I'm still looking online and finding some comments about this ATAK. I found another guy who says he's a pro staffer and he said it's super stable, stable enough to "dance" on. Again, take it with a grain of salt. Can't wait to see it in action on Youtube.
  15. I read the comments from a Wilderness Systems Pro Team member who said he helped design it and said when you stand on it, it's like standing on a bass boat. I assume that's one job of a Pro Team member - advertise the boat. And they know their audience. Probably most kayak fishermen are bass fishermen. Still, that comment is interesting and has me pumped up about it.
  16. I'm willing to pay from $600 to $1500 or so for a really nice kayak. But going over $2,000 for a motorized kayak, I'm not sure I want to go that high. I could probably find a nice John Boat (maybe with a trailer) for $2,000.
  17. Any idea what the price will be with the motor and without the motor?
  18. I bought my Ride 115 off ebay, new from California with free shipping to the Indy airport for $600.00 It was the basic low seat model. I would not pay much more than $600 for a new basic Ride 115. Maybe $700 if it was close by. I would not consider it a 'cruising long distance' type of kayak. It's great for small and medium ponds. But for large lakes where you want to do some good paddling you might want to look for a different kind of model, maybe a Tarpon as others have said. But I don't think you can stand in the Tarpon kayaks. The Ride series is made to stand in. I don't stand much but some people say they are really into that.
  19. Check out this guy on Youtube - Winkidoodles. He's heavy into finesse fishing for bass and uses the Ned Rig a lot. I think he's part of the Midwest Finesse group with Ned Kehde.
  20. I placed an order from the Brewer site over the winter and bought his book, some slider heads and a few packs of slider worms. They sent me all that plus a bunch of samples. I was impressed and it was very very nice of them to send me free samples with my order. I have to say some of the samples looked very good and I think would be good finesse lures for bass. Whoever is running that shop down there in Tennessee is doing it right.
  21. I ordered some Gopher Mushroom jigs so I could try the Ned Rig this year. If you want to buy some mushroom jigs I would suggest buying them from the Gopher site. I'm not positive but I read an article that said the guy who owns the Gopher company makes them all by himself from his house. Whenever I open my little tackle box and look at them I feel they are specially designed and not mass produced in China or Central America. I've not had a chance yet to use them but I will see how they do this spring and summer. I plan on doing some Ned rigging this year. Over the winter I placed two orders and they both shipped within a week or so and they arrived good. No problems.
  22. Did anybody catch the thirty minute Bass Pro Shops program that has been on the Outdoor Channel the last seven days? I discovered it last week and didn't know what in the world it was. Was it a fishing tournament? Was it going to be about the Bass Master Classic? What is this "Spring Classic" they were talking about? So I hit record on my DVR and waited for it to come on. And what was it? Oh, it was seven day infomercial with KVD and others pushing the fishing stuff just like they do on their own TV shows. I admit I did watch all seven nights and enjoyed their broadcast even though it was nothing but an infomercial. Seeing them push their stuff outright is a lot better than Zona and Mercer pushing that stuff in their fishing shows. The blond girl waving her hand around to get the crowd to clap when they went to commercial was lame. During the first night Bill Dance was showing how Bass Pro Shops ships their packages and they cut from him out of the blue and back to the hosts. That was very strange and amateurish. And, we learned the family oriented Bass Pro Shops started in a liqueur store! Classic Americanism. But, it was a lot funner to watch than a lot of other stuff on the Outdoor Channel.
  23. I saw that on TV and thought it was pretty cool. But now looking up that pyramid I found an article how Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's rips off the American public. http://www.citylab.com/work/2014/12/is-memphis-making-another-massive-mistake-with-its-pyramid/383414/
  24. Has anybody heard about the new Wilderness Systems ATAK kayak they are going to release later in 2015? I guess there is a lot of talk going on about this kayak. I have a Ride 115. I'm not much into peddle kayaks but having a little trolling motor that fits inside does sound very very cool. And this: "The deck is highly walkable" I don't stand much in my Ride 115. I've been thinking it would be awesome if kayaks allowed you to walk a little on your kayak besides standing and not moving. I can't wait to see this kayak in action! http://www.wildernesssystems.com/community/introducing-atak http://www.kayakfishmag.com/news/atak/ http://www.rapidmedia.com/kayak-fishing/categories/4374-prototype-process-wilderness-systems-atak.html http://www.wildernesssystems.com/community/wilderness-systems-atak-top-secret-dream-boat
  25. The five inch Yum-Dinger is one lure I never leave home without. I'm a fan of Yum and can't wait to see their 2015 line up although I will admit I'm only interested in their Yum-Dingers.
