  1. 7' MH 2016 St Croix Legend Elite I can't put this rod down
  2. I can't stand when I look for a review on youtube and someone unboxes the product for the first time, reads off of what the package/tag says and then say how much they like it. It's not a review it's a first impression
  3. I think I more excited about this rat than any bait in a long time
  4. Call St. Croix they have excellent customer service and will definitely send you a new rod if you pay the fee. http://stcroixrods.com/service-warranty/service-warranty-policies
  5. About a month ago I had an accident and hooked myself for the first time. The problem was that this hook was a 5/0 Trokar Flipping Hook.....
  6. another vote for 7# Sunline FC Sniper
  7. I was really thinking of picking up a GLX but these new ones just don't look as nice to me as the last ones.. I may try the Yo-Zuri TopKnot fluorocarbon since I really like Hybrid for cranking Sunline BX2 may go on my frogging rod Standup Fish head spin could be an awesome ripping bait
  8. You have a really nice set up going there. I think that the 6'8 MXF is the better choice. I'm not sure if you have seen the new Legend Elites but IMO they are better built than the Extreme's. They have the same blank (so same amazing sensitivity), have a beautiful full cork handle, and have absolutely amazing torzite guides (best guides I have ever seen/used on a bass rod), not to mention that the rod is as light as a feather. If you are curious about a Legend Elite something like an ES68MXF might be good to consider. However, the Legend Extreme is still a great rod and you will not be disappointed. How big are the stripers in your lake? If they are in the 5-7 pound range I couldn't see a problem. But if they are the big ones in the 15-20lb+ range like the ones out west that gorge themselves on trout you will be underpowered.
  9. Has anyone tried these rods? They look really nice but I can't find reviews any where.
  10. Eh I haven't found anything wrong with Sniper so thats what I use. I have two 2 bulk spools of 16lb which I use for everything but jerkbaits and deep diving cranks, for those I use 12lb Sniper
  11. You're never going to put that rod down. I have the 7'MH and it's in my hands non stop. I just wish they made a 7'4 MH to go with the 7'4 H because I would have a line of of all Legend Elites lol
  12. No, biggest fish I saw follow it was about 1.5 pounds
  13. Once you use a baitcaster it's hard to go back to a spinning rod regardless of the technique
  14. Sieberts. Cheap and great quality couldn't be any happier
  15. It walks easily but I never get them to commit on it. Seriously, I've never had so much followers on a topwater lure. I've had at least a good 20-30 fish follow and only one to commit on it.
  16. I really like Megabass baits especially the S-Crank and the Pop Max but the 110 doesn't really impress me as much. Like others have said the bill durability is aggravating for a $25 bait. If I want a jerkbait with a long slender profile such as the 110 I would prefer to use a LC Flash Pointer SP
  17. Few years ago when I lived in California I went on an offshore fishing trip targeting big yellowtail. I was fly lining a mackerel when all of a sudden a giant pelican dove into the water and grabbed it and flew off with it. It flew about ten yards and dropped it without getting hooked.
  18. So you have a freezer full of frozen rodents too?
  19. well invizX is a flurocarbon and CXX is a copoly
  20. By far the Dredge Series is my favorite jigs he makes
  21. The Chronarch is lighter, holds less line (Chronarch is a 150 size and Curado is 200), casts farther, and has an incredibly smooth drag. I use to think the Chronarch was not worth the extra money but after using it more and more I like a lot more than the Curado. The Curado is not a bad reel by any means but I just find the Chronarch a little bit more enjoyable.
  22. Yum Double Up Rig
  23. Another vote for siebert. My advice is to buy a pack or two a month if you don't want to blow a lot of money by buying in bulk all at once.
  24. M/F is perfect for what you plan on doing with it
